NELSON WILL NOT BE THE SENATOR.....SPOKE TO CHIEF OF STAFF TODAY
At first they thought I was talking about stepping up for vote fraud in the state of Florida, where I am. They said no one has showed them fraud yet, if they do he will stand up. As far as the Ohio recount, he was surprised as to the strategy of using a "junior" senator from another state! He said he would not be effective. I did tell him Clinton Curtis met with the DC staff, if he was not around. Nelson oversees NASA as he is a former astronaut. They thought Nelson should know about the Yang Co. since they have NASA contracts. Pete said using Nelson for Ohio would be a weak move.

Did Dennis Kucninich leave the senate?

6. Factchecking
Kerry- i know i'm not online big chunks of time- but is there something you referred to that I've missed- something about a Junior Senator straegy in the Ohio recount?

Whose DC staff did Curtis meet with? I heard Conyers wanted to meet with him after testimony yesterday- has that meeting taken place?

Nelson does not oversee NASA, nor is he a former astronaut. As a COngressperson, Cape Kennedy was in his district; NASA, desperate to cultivate congressional support offered him a ride on the shuttle (house was run by Dems then). That is the same deal they offered Jake Garn, senator of Utah (pugs ran the senate). He might know about Yang, but i doubt he has any particular insider knowledge of NASA... and remember, Yang is a purely repug-supporting corporation. unless you have a copy of any donations they made to him.

Even now, with the pugs owning the senate, Nelson is, at best, the ranking minority member of the sentae committee that considers the NASA budget- NASA is part of the Executive Branch, not the legislative branch.

And as for Kucinich, you can't leave a place you've never been. He is a Congressman, not a Senator.

Welcome aboard.

10. Yes, Nelson was an astronaut.
I doubt Nelson would do anything at all. He is looking at 2006, and is facing either Katherine Harris or Jeb Bush. He will be a good boy.

12. Nelson flew in space
i guess that makes you an astronaut. even if you do it as a tourist.

he was never selected to be an astronaut, he never took full training, he was never a NASA employee or sponsored by some corporation. He was a politician with clout repping the district Cape Canaveral was in. I actually always thought it was a pretty cheesy stunt by NASA.

Could be i'm splitting hairs here. Yeah, I am. DItto on the good boy theory. We have a lotta good boys and girls in the Congress, and scarcely a democrat who remembers what the party stood for once.

actually, Bernie Sanders is one of the best democrats i know in congress. And he's a socialist.
