Kerry conceded we don't have to .Important
Kerry Conceded, but we don't have to . . .

Kerry Can Win Ohio
By the International Labor Communications Association
http://ILCAonline.org

The media has collapsed and Kerry has conceded, but we don't have to.

According to CNN, Bush is ahead in the count in Ohio by 136,221. According to the Toledo Blade, Ohio Secretary of State Ken Blackwell has said the number of provisional ballots could be about 175,000. Blackwell also told the Blade that in the last election 90 percent of the provisional ballots ended up being declared valid and being counted, a figure also reported by CBS News Legal Analyst Andrew Cohen.

There is good reason to believe that the provisional ballots are disproportionately for Kerry. This is because many of them are the result of Republicans challenging voters at the polls.

Therefore, Kerry can win, and we need to demand that every vote be counted.

The provisional ballots are expected to be counted in 10 days. Meanwhile, state law allows Republican and Democratic challengers to examine the envelopes and to challenge their eligibility to be counted.

We need massive public pressure in Columbus, Ohio, to demand a fair count.
If you can't go to Ohio, call the Democratic National Committee at 202-863-8000 and tell them that you want the count monitored.
Send them an Email on this page:
http://www.democrats.org/contact

Write letters to the editors of your local newspapers.

Call your local radio and television stations.

Write or call your Congress Members and other elected officials.

Tell them all we want an accurate count.

In addition, numerous possible cases of Republican wrongdoing in Ohio are being investigated, and we must be prepared to act quickly and in great numbers. Various such cases in Florida four years ago were discovered too late.

There are numerous complaints from Ohio of lines at the polls being longer in heavily Democratic precincts, also a result of Republican challengers and part of the Republicans' plan. Other complaints include rejected registrations, polls not open on time, and voters turned away. See:

Also watch for a related release later today from the Institute for Public Accuracy:
http://www.accuracy.org /

We may also need to demand investigation of the voting machines in Ohio. A year ago the head of Diebold, the company that produced the machines, boasted of his intent to help Bush carry Ohio.

8. Because of Florida 2000, those ballots would get thrown out of GOP courts
if Kerry made a legal challenge. Trust me, this is the only way we have at a chance for the truth.

3. I agree, no way do we let those ballots get thrown out.
We must count all the stolen absentee ballots across the country, I bet there is over 3 to 5 million out there. Bush's 51% is a hoax and so is his pResidency. He has no mandate... Only fear and smear.

10. The counting MUST go on.
Kerry conceding is irrelevant. If he's unwilling to fight this, then WE have to do it for him. If he doesn't have hope, WE have to have it for him. Maybe the "loss" just knocked the wind out of his sails...but it's now OUR job to get things done.

... and I wasn't even the candidate. And that was before I started drinking this evening! What's the difference between someone like me, who hasn't been dragged through the mud and shit, and Kerry, who has? What does it take to get someone like him mad enough to turn around and drive back into the fire like he did in 'Nam?

19. Maybe he doesn't realize just how angry WE are,
and how much fight we have left in us. Who knows, he might have just turned off the TV and shut out everyone. That's why we need to fight this for him...if he doesn't realized that we ARE prepared to FIGHT, that we WANT to, we need to SHOW him! And that's why it's so important for us to take the initiative.

And I'm sure I wasn't alone.

All he had to do was say the word, and he had an army of angry Democrats and independent liberals from coast to coast.

Didn't he know that?

16. And one more . . .

http://www.nov3.us/urgentresponsenetwork2.php

EVERY VOTE MUST BE COUNTED!
NO DISENFRANCHISEMENT!
11/03/04 - 11:00 a.m. Eastern Standard Time

It's not over: As of the morning of November 3, 2004, the outcome of the 2004 presidential election has still not been determined, and we must not allow it to be determined until every one of our votes has been counted. The No Stolen Elections! campaign urges you to do whatever you can to ensure that this election is fair. There are as many as 250,000 provisional ballots in Ohio that have not been counted and there are many questions about the integrity of the election, which must be investigated. We urge you to take action today to defend our democracy!

TAKE ACTION ON NOVEMBER 3:

*CALL ELECTION OFFICIALS IN OHIO TO DEMAND THAT ALL VOTES ARE COUNTED. Call the Ohio Secretary of State's office and demand that all legal votes in Ohio, including provisional ballots, be counted.

CONTACT: 614-466-2585

*SUPPORT THE PROTESTS IN OHIO. Many groups in Ohio are going to take to the streets today to demand that all votes in Ohio be counted, to demand that no one be disenfranchised and all voting irregularities be investigated. Tell everyone you know in Ohio to support these efforts, and consider going to Ohio yourself. See the call to action at www.indyvoter.org.

*KEEP ORGANIZING. Organize town hall meetings or other events within the next few days or turn your planned Nov. 3 protests into public meetings to discuss voting irregularities in your community, what happened nationally, and where do we go from here.

NO STOLEN ELECTIONS! ~ Don't mourn, organize!

21. DONT SEND WRONG MESSAGE
I think that Ohio appears to have a system in place that will ensure that at least all of the ballots are counted.

I suggest that before any starts any kind of mass media campaign, you agree on a "standard" message that way what is being said is clear and coherent EVERY TIME.

Create a few different variations of that message in letter format and everyone that gets sent should include a unique permanent address for maximum impact. There is at least one website, I believe, that will allow you to contact all members of Congress at one time via email.

Coordination is the key.

23. Not likely, but not impossilbe - other questions though
Plus, I have a questions about some other states. Have all provisional and absentee ballots been counted in Florida, New Nexico and Nevada? Bush won New Mexico and Nevada by less than 50K votes each.

I also read over on the Kerry message board on his website that there are 6 MILLION ballots from Americans living overseas that are still in their envelopes. Is this true and if so, when will those votes be counted.

I think Kerry conceded as a formality only, to distance himself from the legal wrangling. WE THE PEOPLE elect the President, not the candidates themselves. If the electoral votes end up in Kerry's favor, it is not his election to concede.

34. The votes should be counted even if he's not going to win.
This is about more than just Kerry. This is about justice and rule of law. Those votes count and we must demand they be counted.

I will willingly concede the election if it turns out the Republicans won it fairly. We all know this is pretty impossible, as there is evidence of widespread cheating and rigging. But it's the concept of "every vote counts" we're protecting here.

The votes must be counted. Now.

29. question for similar subject and thread
Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I have read here today that Kerry conceded so that all the votes would be counted rather than having it all stopped and tied up with the courts deciding whether or not to continue the count or stop and call it as happened with the last election. OK, this gives us 2 scenarios:
1. concede the loss and count all the votes
2. let the lawyers at it, have the courts potentially call off the vote and never have them counted.

My question is what happened to scenario 3: Put off the concession, say "we're waiting for the complete count to come in" and just wait? Let the instant gratification people stew in the unknowing for a few more days. Did I miss something? Sad and wondering. Thank you for being here

36. If Kerry didn't concede today
the Bush attack machine would have gone into high gear. Now Bush is heading for another drunken spree down on the pig farm to celebrate his victory and may wake up to a big surprise come Dec. when it's time for the electoral college to pick a president.

However, between now and then it is up to us to keep up the pressure. To demand that all of the votes are counted and that all the irregularities are addressed.

We still have one more month left to right these wrong. In the end, we still probably won't win but we must at least try.

38. Be careful what you wish for ....
... all the provisional ballots in OH will be counted. Just because Kerry conceeded doesn't mean they won't be, but not all of the provisional ballots come from Dem areas, many of them may be coming from the Amish, a large number of which live here, and they may be 100% Bush. Kerry may not get more than half of the provisional ballots, and probably less than half of the absentee (military) ballots. Bush's lead may grow after the provisonal and absentee ballots are counted.

39. We have nothing to lose and everything to gain
Every ballot SHOULD be counted and yes, I think ballots for Bush should be counted too. What a concept! They're the one that are into voter suppression and fraud, not US! Any legitimate vote cast, even as provisional or absentee, should be counted. I would think they had many thousands of absentee ballots in Florida as well because of all the senior citizens.
