This is who "The Time Person Of Year" SHOULD be!
Soldier Says He Asked Rumsfeld 'Armor' Question Without Aid of embedded reporter.

NEW YORK In his first public account of last week’s contoversy, Spc. Thomas Wilson says that he came up with the now famous “armor” question for Pentagon chief Donald Rumsfeld himself, without the help of oft-criticized reporter Edward Lee Pitts. And he adds, "If this is my 15 minutes of fame, I hope it saves a life." The account appears in next week’s edition of Time magazine.

<snip>

After his convoy arrived at Camp Arijan in Kuwait, Wilson found hundreds of fully armored vehicles promised to another unit months down the road. Wilson says he asked if the 278th could use them in the meantime, and was told no. That inspired his question about the shortage of armor, which he showed to Pitts.

The Time account continues: “As for Rumsfeld's brusque response — that even a fully armored vehicle ‘can be blown up’--Wilson says, ‘Personally, I didn't like that answer.’”

But he added, “I hope I didn't do any damage to Secretary Rumsfeld.”

If the soldier had asked Rummy why he had sent them to fight an illegal war, based on lies and greed, then I'd applaud him. As it is, he has no (expressed) concerns about the legality/morality of the war, and he hopes he "didn't do any damge to Secretary Rumsfeld." The issue is the unprovoked, illegal, and immoral war, not weaponry. As it stands, I have to agree with Rummy on this. Soldier, you signed up, you knew what that involoved, and your only responsibility is to do what you are told, as best you can, with what you have. Everything else is just griping.

So, buddy, how do you take it when your wife lies to as baldly as Bush Co. did/does? Or you kid? Or a good friend?

The guy is doing his job, but person of the year? NO way.
