ARNEBECK INTERVIEW, Saturday, Dec. 18, with audio link
Edited on Mon Dec-20-04 02:07 PM by Straight Shooter
A big "Thank You" to Amaryllis, who posted this in another thread but doesn't have enough posts to start a new thread.

Her post:

Summary: Cliff Arnebeck talks about what's going on in Ohio, post election. He explains the citizens lawsuit (as opposed to the recount), discusses the voter supression tactics used, and talks about the expected course of the legal wrangling.
Credits: Produced by American Dream Radio
Interviewer: Jerry Krantman

(If that doesn't work, try this: http://www.radio4all.net/proginfo.php?id=10653>http://www.radio4all.net/proginfo.php?id=10653 and the link is at the top of the page)

You can stream it (by clicking on the link that says "http" in the table at the bottom of the Web page) or can download it for rebroadcast or other distribution (by right-clicking the same "http" link and giving it a file name on your computer).

I am too new to start a thread. If anyone feels this is worthy of a new thread, go for it.

edit: sorry for originally misspelling your name, Amaryllis

3. DU is the best resource we've got, isn't it?
"Are you representing John Kerry in this suit?"

"No ..."

This is a 45-minute interview, so please bookmark for listening later if you don't have the time now.

He's asking for the right to conduct discovery, that seems to be the crux of the suit. From what I'm hearing so far, this will be a very interesting interview.

5. Great Interview! However, Interview was on Dec 15th not the 18th
if you go by what Jerry Krantman says in the first few minutes. You might want to edit your post. Great find, though. Thanks!:)

11. Mea Culpa
It was too late to edit by the time I finished other items and actually had time to sit and listen.

6. Just finished listening to the interview...
I also read the suit that they refiled on Friday.

The thing that most struck me about the interview was Arnebeck's observation that he believed the voting rights act violations to be a red herring in this cause, because the perpetrators likely reasoned that "we" would be most distracted by the obvious nature of the violations and not pursue the greater problem in the tabulators which is by it's very nature more difficult to detect.

He also said that he thought it vital that the voices of the Civil Rights movement and the bbv activists must (and he said actually now are beginning to) come together to win this fight.

The interview is a bit long, but it is very good...

7. Arnebeck on the media silence was interesting
Edited on Mon Dec-20-04 02:54 PM by SueZhope
He was actually praising the media....however he was saying the fault lies with Kerry & the dems as to why there's no media on this. He can understand why there silent because of Kerry's concession.

9. I would just add to that point...
that Arnebeck also stated that he believed that Kerry conceded because he (Kerry) was told repeatedly that there was just no way for him to make up the difference (which at that time they believed to be 136,000 votes)through provisional or absentee votes...

13. I agree. I've heard Arnebeck interviewed several times...
and this was the most lengthy, detailed one...giving him time to strongly state his points. He's so rational, and makes it all so accessible. The suit he filed is also pretty amazing. What an incredible attorney, and courageous person to tackle this.

Thank you for sharing it.

14. Thanks for starting thread for me! Here is something new from Fitrakis

I know the person who is second in line from Nancy Price, Cliff's co-chair of Alliance for Democracy, and she sends me this stuff, but I am too new to start threads.

This letter from Robert Fitrakis comes from the PR representative for Cliff Arnebeck and the Ohio lawsuit. It comes through Nancy Price, Cliff's co-chair of Alliance for Democracy.

December 17, 2004

Dear Friends and Supporters,
Just before November 2, Dr. Bob Fitrakis and Harvey Wasserman published "12 ways the Ohio vote is being stolen" on the freepress.org web site. Widely circulated throughout the internet, the piece proved prophetic. But what really happened in Ohio has been "locked down" by the major media. If another stolen presidential election slips by undocumented, we can only tremble for the future of American democracy.
Working here in Columbus, we've thoroughly documented the dark corners of this tragic election. We're now turning it all into the definitive book and documentary film.
With your <http://freepress.org/store.php#don_pub>help, we can have this book published in January. It will be the document of record of the wholesale disenfranchisement, manipulation and fraud that define this election.
By December 2005, we expect our documentary film to show the world how it all happened. Our deep roots in the central Ohio journalist and activist communities give us unique access to all aspects of this story. Prize-winning writer and Air America producer Steve Rosenfeld has joined our team. Free Press videographer Suzanne Patzer is already coordinating the unique, powerful footage we've shot from Election Day on.
Our non-stop coverage continues to unfold on the
freepress.org website. We need your help to keep it up.
And we invite you to be a part of this essential book and
movie project with a tax deductible donation to freepress.org. A
http://freepress.org/store.php#don_pub>donation of $50 or more gets you a free, signed first edition of the book upon publication. A
http://freepress.org/store.php#don_pub>donation of $100 or more gets you the signed first editions of both the book and the DVD.
American democracy is hanging by a thin thread in Ohio.
Please help us make sure it doesn't snap. Every cent you contribute will make a difference.
Dr. Bob Fitrakis, JD, is a professor of political science at Columbus State Community College who helped convene the first public hearings on this election. Harvey Wasserman is an historian who helped found the grassroots anti-nuclear movement. Steve Rosenfeld is a producer for Air America radio. Widely published authors and journalists, their bios appear at freepress.org.

Sincerely,

Dr. Robert J. Fitrakis

15. Does the Fitrakis letter need new thread? I don't know how this works
well enough to determine. It is related to what Arnebeck is doing but should it have it's own thread? Straight Shooter, if you think so, go for it!

16. Hi, Amaryllis, I think it's worthwhile, with one caveat:
My main motivation is to back Cliff Arnebeck in his efforts and to get people to contribute to the pursuit of the lawsuit in Ohio. I think buying the book may dilute the effort for those of us who are limited on funds.

Good catch, though. Bob Fitrakis is well-known around DU.

Any time you want to start a new thread, don't worry about whether its worthy or not, just go for it. I've seen good subjects sink like a stone, and things that don't interest me float on top of the forum for days. It just depends on what captures people's imaginations around here.

:hi:
