You wouldn't know Kerry was involved in anything by visiting his website
The JohnKerry.com website is still frozen in time - perpetually stuck on November 2nd. They're not even bothering to put up any statements about the massive voting irregularities that have already been documented. Nothing about the Ohio recount. Nothing about Conyers' hearings. It's all very depressing.

Someone asked on another thread what this whole process of reporting voting problems would be like without the Internet. Sorry to say it, but I'm starting to wonder what this whole process would have been like with someone who didn't pay lip service to fighting for every vote. I don't buy the theories that Kerry is laying low or has some other motive for staying mum on all these issues. I also don't buy the theories that Kerry's loss of voice on the subject is some grand Rove strategy or Skull and Bones cabal. I just think the guy is too cautious for his own good and, with absolutely nothing to lose at this point it really boggles the mind why he won't hold a press conference and fight.

17. Kerry does have something to lose
Kerry needs to have proof of fraud before he takes a stand. Let's see what the lawsuit says. He does need to speak out about voter suppression asap.

2. Kerry seems to be trying to walk a fine line . . .
he doesn't REALLY want to contest the election, but he also doesn't want to lose the support of the millions of Democrats who are furious that the election was stolen . . . seems to me all he's providing are empty gestures meant to quell the anger and mollify the angry . . . gonna have to show me a whole lot more than that . . .

3. He could have more support if he speaks out and fights this
Why are the Dems afraid of speaking out against Smirky?

20. I hate to post threads like this, but you said it pal
I am becoming more and more disappointed by Kerry's behavior as each day goes by. He shouldn't be trying to determine what "line" to take. He should be speaking the truth and let it carry him wherever it carries him.

6. I trust John Kerry
I'm willing to wait for a while to pass judgement. We don't know what he knows. I'm sure there's an excellent reason why he's laying low. Just think - all the freeper morons, bush cronies are laying low too.

8. I agree
I think he probably knows more than we think and is playing things smart, quiet, but involved behind the scenes right now. Especially if he might run in 2008, he probably has to watch his step right now. Of course once in awhile I have the scary thought that he could have been threatened too...
But I understand your frustration... I look at the Kerry site now and then hoping there might be some news or update. Thankfully the Cobb site keeps us up to date on everything! Also Nader!

7. Well, if it's stuck at Nov. 2nd, then if he's installed...then he
can change the page to a Victory page! Why waste time and money on it now?

21. Kerry is the one guy who can bring instant attention to this issue
and he's choosing not to do it. I not a Kerry hater, but I find it disheartening that we have to rely on the Greens and 527s and individual bloggers to carry the flag on this one.

9. It's brilliant
Leave everything just as it was when he made that great "concession" speech, and let the process unfold. That's what we're seeing now in Ohio.

I think things are going to happen in the next couple of weeks that could, conceivably, make history.

Let me try to assuage your concern about the unchanging JK site, if I may:

Suppose you were arrested and charged with first-degree murder, and you're in a capital punishment state. Suppose you then retain me to represent you.

Would it make any sense at all, with so much at stake, for me to walk out onto the courthouse steps and announce to the world exactly how I plan to conduct your defense?

Sometimes, my friend, silence can be hard to take, but, if you've been watching the process and if you've paid attention to the signs along the way - and they've been numerous and quite interesting - you'd take comfort in the knowledge that just because you can't see something happening doesn't mean something isn't happening.

Merry Christmas. Go overeat. You'll feel better.

I just hope the waiting for him to appear again is worth the wait, though I can wait for it all to unfold in front of my eyes.

:bounce:

Yes, I got both emails yesterday and donated to phone cards for soldiers, I hope it helps them call home for the holidays.

15. to me the state of the site is encouraging.
it isn't transformed into a keep-in-touch-with-a-senator site, for example. No news is good news, I say.

16. 90% Of Original Content Still There
Sure, he could leave the site up because of the hosting contract he signed but that is COMPLETELY missing the point. If he truly were out of the game, he would replace that mountain of content with a few simple pages which thank his supporters and provide a transcript of his concession speech.

No, sir!

He IS ninja stealth! By keeping it like this, he'll be able to reengage the masses much more easily when he goes public with his full-court-press challenge.
