3. I really don't know. But, if not, expect it to become a new law real
soon for the convenience of Katherine Blackwell.

13. Protective order requests are fairly routine
For highly positioned people, protective order requests are fairly routine, if not universal.

Something eventually gets worked out that's less than what was asked for but more than nothing.

5. Even Clinton had to testify
and that was in a civil suit that really was trivial and a waste of time.

I think Blackwell is tough out of luck on this one.

7. He's trying to protect himself
He's trying to get protection for himself from having to testify under oath about the election.

15. Was he subpoenaed to give a deposition?
(Is that what happens?) And if so, did his seeking a court order to protect him from giving depositions actually stall his being required to give depositions? I'm trying to understand how he got away with not showing up.

16. Here's some info
from Peace, Earth & Justice News regarding Blackwell, et al:

http://www.pej.org/html/modules.php?op=modload&name=News&file=article&sid=1325&mode=thread&order=0&thold=0

a portion of that article:

President George Bush, Vice-President Richard Cheney and White House Political Advisor Karl Rove received notice that they will be deposed Tuesday and Wednesday, December 28 and 29. The trio’s Ohio attorney, Kurt Tunnell, so far claims his clients have not been properly served. Under Ohio law, the Republican-dominated Ohio Supreme Court is responsible for serving the three with subpoenas.

If nothing else happens, come next election time (regardless of what Blackwell runs for) I'll be doing my part to make sure he doesn't hold another public office ever again - even from here in Oregon.
