And go after Ohio Chief Justice Moyer at the same time as going after Bush? Since the Ohio Supreme Court had to decide the case, that knocked their chance of success back to near zero WHATEVER evidence they may have had.
Their case would appear much less frivolous, had Kerry joined it, but why would he join a case that made such an outrageous error as going after the Judge from the get-go?
Obviously, we didn't have time to get this complex fraud and disenfranchizement case together properly before the electoral collage. But going off half-cocked like Arnebeck did only lowers our credibility. Now it's hard legal news that our shit don't fly.
We need to after Ohio Secretary of State Blackwell and perhaps some corruptable voting equipment firms for violations of numerous election laws, and take the time to do it right so we have real chance of getting some convictions. Ultimately, we should go after Karl Rove too...but understand THAT WILL TAKE YEARS, like Watergate, and ultimately only be able to succeed if Democrats get a hold Congress in 2006. That, in turn, will only happen if we continue to achieve reform at the state level, in state after state, to get this fraudulent voting technology removed and replaced. There's already been progress in states including California and New Jersey, we just need to keep on going.
There's definately a voting rights movement going on on the ground in Ohio and some other states now, with new information about the systems of fraud and disenfrachizement turning up all the time. It's a pity that the legal end of our efforts had to get off to such an embarassingly half-baked start.
