24. It means "no text"
as in, it's just the headline, no body text, so don't bother clicking on it to read the whole thing

5. I was contemplating that last night.
I was just wondering what could be done.
If I could get some of the other sources that I do enjoy on TV somewhere else, I would jump on it.

6. I'll keep my cable.
Noticed the cable company gave a lot of money to the Kerry campaign. But I won't watch cable news - unless it's The Daily Show.

7. Companies don't give money. Employees do. And just because TW had
a bunch of middle managers who could see where fascism was taking the country doesn't offset the fact that the Board of Directors were doing everything they could to make sure Bush's train of fascism didn't get knocked from the rails.

Cancel your cable.

10. I loved your posts!
I'm not canceling my cable. My kids watch the cartoon channels, and I need the Daily Show(even though I turned it off last night when he cut to Bush).

BUT: I vowed to never watch CNN, or MSNBC or FOX or any "news" or politcal show again. This is a big deal for a former junkie.

They have distorted reality. I refuse to buy what they are selling.

All opportunities for them to try and brainwash anyone in your household. Protect your children and yourself.

If you like a particular program, it will be out on DVD within the next year or so. You can wait.

Read books. Network in the community. Get to know Repugs and make them feel safe with you so you can know what they are thinking. DO NOT LET THEM KNOW WHAT YOU ARE THINKING.

It is time to hold your cards close to your vest.

If they feel safe, they will get complacent.

Edit: This would be a huge political statement and it would take them forever to figure out what was happening.

14. Then notify the sponsors
in some way. Then cancel the ad mail too, block pop-ups and spam and not buy big brand names. MoveOn should get a serious list together and share the pain. Most boycotts don't work like this. I would like it to be more than a personal abdication from the system.

They already lost tens of thousands of dollars in my Thrift Plan money. No democracy. No investment. I can't fund evil. I will pay taxes under protest(protest sent prudently to so-called elected reps) I will donate to freedom causes. The Dems will have to go to them.

The unions will have to stop gaming their own self destruction before I stop bitching at them. Realpolitik is another part of our soviet lifestyle.

Opt in and demand of large movements like MoveON. Never sit back and delegate activism upward without lateral and downward movement.

Did it ever occur to anyone that the majority now(for sure)has no effective political party opposition against tyranny? Without Dean and the internet how far would even Kerry have gotten?

I am still loyal to the concept of a Democratic Party. I will work where the work is being done. Third party talk in a top-diseased system is a small wind.

18. I've had cable since '99.
It was largly ignored it until the attacks. After that, I watched it more. However, after this election it's going. I can't afford it and besides, I'd rather read.
The only problems are I'll miss C-span, baseball and the Daily Show.

19. Once you cut it, you really don't miss it at all
I haven't flipped-channels since 2000, and there is NOTHING to miss (except that I'd like to watch The Daily Show for all the raving I hear about it here).

Things like this, cutting out things that benefit only the Corps that are harming us by misinformation and omission of real, honest, reasoned disourse about what's truly important. No, they want to keep us stupid and voting against our interests while waving the flag and cheering for their interests. It's a really good scam they've got going.

Tell them you've had enough of their shoving Scott Peterson down your throats; things like that belong in a tabloid or mystery book, not on national news.

Kill your tabloid television.

because of the fellating of the cable news networks. I'm afraid I would die from rage listening to them go on and on about great * is.

but I kept the basic stations for $15 a month. I'll probably have withdrawal symptoms, but I have this stack of books waiting to be read.

22. People lived without cable before,......
they can live without it again. I don't watch TV. I read, listen to music, do crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles, volunteer, surf the net (local internet provider). It's a much more rewarding life.
