"hundreds of letters that aren't form letters make a big difference"

"Draft a letter about the integrity of the vote.
What America is "fighting" for in other countries that the senators voted for, and how they aren't analyzing the questionable practices here in the US of A. Etc., etc.... Then send it to all that you can.
They won't respond if it's not your state (write your state and the "targeted" people first) -- but hundreds of letters that are not form letters make a big difference --- Calling could work too, though because of the holiday, might be hard to get through...."

I loved that post and wanted to highlight it with a new thread and a repeat of this information:

AGAIN - Here's the list of senators suggested for support of Conyers in objecting to Ohio electors.

AGAIN - Include a concise, intelligent introduction of major problems and why you believe them.

AGAIN - Include the concept of similar legitimate problems with evidence in the other major conflict states.

AGAIN - Write a personal letter or call the office. Better = a personal visit if at all possible; in groups, even better.

AGAIN - Do your own guy first, then the listed targets, then any others you so desire.

1. Just curious, but why not Bayh?
I'm not in Indiana so I'm not familiar with his term. Is he not in the next congress?

2. You work a lot faster than I do.... here are fax numbers:
Emails are often overlooked. Snail mail is delayed, flowers will be destroyed. Faxing is maybe the best way to go.

These were posted by dzika: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=203&topic_id=200009

I updated the list to include just the senators targeted by Conyers.
You can send 6 free faxes at once via email every 24 hours. So, paste a block of addresses below into the "to" portion of your email with your letter in it, then send it to the senators. You will have to do this for 5 days to send all of these, waiting at least 24 hours between batches. (if your email program is Outlook Express based, you may have to change the commas to semicolons.)

If you want to fax Senators individually, their DC fax numbers are immediately after the @ in the email addresses below.

3. thank you
also contacted my OH Republican Senators and others.

I truly feel we need to impress upon as many Senators as possible that this is a non-partisan issue.

5. It need not be "your" Senator you write to. (Or TALK to - see below)
Failure to do their sworn duty in this matter violates all of our rights.

Tell them that.

We are also RECRUITING citizen-lobbyists to talk to Senators, or more likely staff, personally.

Nothing makes a bigger impact. Local or DC staff will do.

If you think you can do this, contact us: thedeanpeople@comcast.net

We can provide talking points, help in getting a meeting, and more.

If you represent a group, and want us to talk to Senators/staff IN YOUR NAME, contact us as well.

8. I like this quote from one of their own:
"We, the people are the rightful masters of both Congress and the courts, not to overthrow the Constitution, but to overthrow men who pervert the Constitution."

12. if you REALLY want to get the attention of a Congressperson . . .
or a Senator, send them a hand-written letter that you composed yourself . . .

Congressional offices have an informal rating system vis-a-vis constituent communications . . . e-mails are paid the least attention, personal letters the most . . . and if someone takes the time to write a letter by hand, it is very often in the stack that actually gets put on the representative's desk for him/her to read . . . when I worked for a Congressman many years ago, in fact, he wanted to see ALL hand-written letters himself . . .

just a little hint to maximize effectiveness . . . yes, it takes some time and some effort . . . which is exactly why it IS more effective . . .

13. Except---there may not be time, especially with the intensive screening
