Do i really have to make another 'Calm down guys' thread?

well i'm gonna. cuz i think we need chill just a teency weency bit on this whole 'Jan. 6th, who's gonna stand up' issue.

Conyers has a lot of guts to say here and now, straighforward that he is going to contest this election. BUT he is the one who has been working the hardest and longest on this election BS in Ohio. Of course, he has witnessed it all already, of course he is going to have the balls to say right now that he will lead this contest on Jan. 6th. OF COURSE.

But as for the rest of them, do you really think, especially Senators, that they are going to come out and tell us right now that they are going to join? Espcially over the f*cking phone to some stranger? I dont' think so.

Besides the fact that most senators and other Reps. don't yet know the details and facts that Conyers will present to them next week in his report - why the hell would they come out now and say 'yes we are going to join Conyers and contest the election, even though we don't know shit about what really happened.....and think, if they did say this now, how the hell would that fly on the news, on the talk shows, if the spin ever did start - that these Senators and Reps. are claiming fraud without knowing the facts, without thinking long and hard about their decision?

I don't know, maybe they are all gonna wimp out.

But if they aren't, and plan on at least giving Conyers an ear - why the hell would they tell us now?

Yes, I think they would not announce it ahead of time and get jumped all over.

By Monday, I think each senator will have received Conyers' letter, with attachments that illustrate the "irregularities".

I think having this information in hand may help them make their decisions (along with our polite and encouraging faxes and phone calls).

We'll continue to eat our own until everyone ever associated with Bush (And Kerry) is hanged and the members of DU are appointed grand rulers of the universe.

But now that I look at my post, it seems I did.

I'm just tired of all the Democrat bashing, and I don't think your efforts are going to make any difference. Personally, I trust the party that I've worked for, and has worked for me, for many years. And I stand with the members of that party.

Convincing senators aside, I want to read that bad boy. I bet it will be more intriguing than the 9/11 Commission's book!

Conyers is calm, astute, precise and not given to fits of tin-foil fashion. I that report will be a doozy.

One thing that I thought about last night...we know that come 2007-2008, there will be another Moore film showcasing the * heist of 2004 and what happens on Jan 6th. The footage of voter suppression etc. will be front page on everyone's mind just in time for the next election. You have to believe that our Senators and Representatives have that in the back of their mind.

I think that there will be many Senators that take a good hard look at the request made by Conyers. They will also be considering the thousands of letters, faxes and phone calls they received from us.

We proved in this bast election that we, the people, are willing to to take a much more active role in supporting or opposing candidates. We speak with our money and our efforts, and they know that they need us, just as we need them.

The Senator(s) and Representatives that stand on Jan 6th will be heroes. They will be tops with the Democratic base. It is imperative that we continue to write and fax them and drive home the point that we expect them to stand on this issue.

sometimes it's to boost my own morale as well. there's something in my nature that when i see negativity and hopelessness, my automatic reaction is to counterattack it :shrug: besides, I was raised by 311, so 'positive vibes' has been grinded into my mind and soul :)

If you've written your letter to your senators and tipped off people to watch on the 6th, and informed them about what is going on, then there's not a whole lot more you can do at this point. If you are really feeling you need to do something, compose a single page informational piece and go stick it on car windshields or something. It's a wait and see at this point. I don't know, I don't think I'd expect a senator to commit at this point. It sort of takes away the element of surprise, for one thing, and it is something I'm sure they'd need to consider very seriously. It's not like placing a bid on eBay...this is big! So, chill if you've done your part. If not, what are you doing here, sitting around reading this for anyway?

You're right. We're at a point where we just have to wait and see. I hope that the evidence Conyers gives to the senators will have the appropriate effect. I'd love to see Levin or Stabenow stand up and fight, but I don't know if they'll be the ones. I feel in my heart, though, that someone will see the injustice of it all and stand up for what is right.

Why are we wasting time worrying about what may or not happen? Just do what we can to get it to happen.

And, go out already, it's New Year's Eve!
