The last word about The People's E-mail Network, I promise.
Edited on Sun Jan-02-05 03:14 AM by kitkat65
Let me lay it out to you as I see it with the final message being don’t put all your eggs in one basket.

1) the web site offers absolutely no reference to who they are

2) what is with the .us ending? How many times have we seen a .us ending? Firespirit thinks it doesn't mean anything.

3) kerrygoddess was able to find the info about a Steve Angelica of Los Angelas as being responsible for the site

4) the only thing I found on Yahoo search was the settlement against the southern California Comptek owner Steve Angelica

5) Could the two be the same? Who knows, but let's just say yes for now - sounds like this Steve fellow isn't real honest in business.

6) You're telling me you're getting e-mails back from where you think your letters are being sent to. I'm asking how do you know they're actually coming from there? Firespirit says you can fake a return address.

7) Now as a what if, let's say I have a computer background and no business ethics. I'm able to set up a program that recognizes all these letters and where they're supposed to go to and can send an automatic reply form letter with a fake return address making you think the letter went to where I said it would go.

8) Let's say I tell all these websites that are talking about election fraud that the best possible way to reach every representative that matters is to use my web site because it's so easy - it'll take care of everything for you. And I'm so great because I'm talking about all the progressive issues. Even the liberal media loves me.

9) and now you can relax, knowing you did your civic duty and don't need to do anything else. Why keep signing more petitions? I've already contacted every representative that matters.

But the problem is those communications never got to the people you thought they did, because it's a fraud.

And we know a lot about fraud these days, don’t we?

If you want to look at the whole thread, here it is.

1. I can only speak to one of your points
but .us is a domain designation for the United States. It's rather new but I've seen it in several places and even helped a friend register a domain with that extension.

Check any of the domain registrars and you'll see it offered.

5. .us domain registrations
have been available for several years

Many countries have a domian extension - .uk = united kingdom, .dk = denmark, .de = germany, .ar = argentina, .ca = canada, .nz = new zealand, .au = australia, .ie = ireland, etc.

2. drlora says blast Conyers. So yea, what up?
On this thread, DU dzika posted a note from Dr. Lora Chamberlain
drlora@ameritech.net Progressive Democrats of Illinois

<http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=203x222330>

"One last request, please call Rep. John Conyers and thank him for his tremendous efforts and dedication to the right of every American to cast their vote and get it counted correctly!"

3. Who IS Dr. Lora anyway?
Sure, thousands of people calling/clogging Conyers phone line is a good idea. Not. I don't trust anyone who suggests blasting at this critical time. Notice the same posters making these requests? Notice the same posters eagerly agreeing and asking for more numbers? Notice the posts...HELP!!!!! Someone send Conyers...this info!!!! Beware of this crap.

4. Yes. Yes. I agree/wonder.
That was "my what up?"

Hoping Kitka will track it down.

We best do what we need to do, not what we think (or even some "staffers") we should be do.

It's not the future, yet. It's still the present.
