Proof the Presidency was rigged......Colorado!
Edited on Fri Nov-05-04 01:27 AM by serryjw
I am a liberal NY transplant. Colorado has been considered a conservative state for the last 15 years......at the last moment it became a battleground state.

Now Democrats REGAINED control of BOTH houses of the state legislature for the first time in 42 YEARS! We sent BOTH Salazar Brothers to the US House & the Senate.......and we could NOT deliver CO to Kerry?...does anyone REALLY believe that?

1. Can you find mistakes or fraud
that adds up to 115,110 votes. If so, Co is Kerry's.

6. Lets see the data

Precinct by precinct, lets see the results posted. Then we will see where the evoting machines are and how those results match to the exit polls.

I suspect if fraud was involved, it was a very few number of evoting machines that will be at fault. There may of course have been a number of other problems contributing, but I'd look to that cause for the majority of any vote imbalances.

2. Makes no sense at all
Have your local news people come up with some sham explanation for this discrepancy?

3. It's also represents another exit poll/final result anomaly
There was a 7% point discrepancy between the exit polls and the final result.

5. “state of emergency.”
Purging the rolls: In Colorado, Secretary of State Donetta Davidson purged up to 6,000 voters from the state's rolls a few weeks before the election, because they were convicted felons. Yet Colorado--unlike states such as Florida, where felons, even those who have served their sentences, are barred from voting--has no such rule. In order to get away with this--and avoid a federal law that makes it illegal to purge voters less than 90 days before an election, so they have time to appeal--Davidson declared a “state of emergency.”

7. Well to begin with there is always ticket splitting in elections
Evan Bayh won Indiana with 62% while Dems got creamed in Indiana for other races as an example.

If they were going to put in the fix for B*, why not for Joe Coors?

9. They're still counting...
Colorado is still counting. Boulder County is 67% reporting. Boulder County is highly favorable to Kerry (68% thusfar). There are 25000 absentee ballots, and 42000 early ballots (unsure if they're yet counted). Kerry's behind 114104 votes... Seems unlikely he can pull it, but...

10. Look at all the senatorial and gubernatorial races throughout the country.
I think that virtually all of the Democratic candidates ran ahead of Kerry in percentage of the vote. Castor in FL got more votesd losing to mel martinez in the Senate race than Kerry did against Bush in the presidential race. Obama really outpaced Kerry in IL where we won both races.

13. Republican crossover
Lots of Republicans crossed over to vote for Salazar.

Even Salazar's campaign catered to the crossover vote--look at how careful he was to avoid appearances with Kerry.

Colorado has a reputation for voting for the person, not the party, and for very clean elections. If you want your accusations to stick it will require hard evidence.
