"FraWd Blackout Protest" Jan. 6 @ 9pm est. People power to shine a light

on election fraWd by shutting off all your electronics at 9 pm e.s.t. for two minutes. When you turn them back on there will be a surge which is quite noticeable to the power grid. This is a metaphoric means of saying that we voted "in the dark" (BBV)and we demand it be in the light (transparency).

This is what's known in the spanish-speaking world as a 'cacerolada'. It makes plenty of noise and is very personally satisfying.

The first time I did this, in Barcelona, just before joining the first, at-least two-million-strong, antiwar demonstration (fifteen minutes, the whole city making noise 22:00-22:15) many (like me) people also disconnected their power - including the heating (this was february). Sure, I worried about the consequences of the surge when we all switched on again, but, HALF THE CITY BANGING POTS AND PANS IN DARKNESS OR IN CANDLELIGHT: it was great. Even hit your media, I understand...

Perhaps we should yell "Paper ballots Now! Hand count NOW!"

Whether or not such a thing could affect a power grid or not, I'm uncertain of. I'm far more certain that nobody would yell "Boss! they're protesting!"

At least my neighbors will get the message, that's 2 more people that will be aware of the protest than your plan.

this protest might have if we were successful enough to have a dramatic impact on the grid. Certainly MSM would have to report it!

Anyway go ahead and yell out the door at 9pm est on the 6th and at least you will feel better. Perhaps if this gets out there then you may find your neighbors agreeing quite vociferously from a two minute darkness.

The biggest effect will be that your power control center people will say.. "hmmm thats interesting"

This happens all the time when the power goes down in an area, and then comes back up..so the grids are well designed for it.

btw, to be most effective, cut off the power at the mains, otherwise your house will still be drawing power through various sources.

But the trick is to get people to notice (other than the ones doing it of course)

get noticed. There is a very strong possibility that this could create a dramatic effect on the grid should millions of people do this and power up a t precisely 9:02!
Regardless of notice it IS a way to make a statement on the 6th!

But those 3 cities are on entirely seperate grids.

To get some attention, do it longer than 2 minutes. Make it 15 minutes

2 minutes isnt enough time for the folks who manage the grids and interconnects to start making changes.

I think two minutes is easier for people to participate and more likely to happen than fifteen minutes. If everyone put there power back on essentially simultaneously at 9:02 pm e.s.t. then it will have the desired effect regardless of how long the outage is.
