Don't forget to FAX too!
You can find Senators' fax numbers at www.congress.org.

I've been faxing all morning and I have not gotten one BUSY signal. Therefore, not many people are faxing. So let's go fax!

5. Here's mine:
Dear Senator XXXX:

Please stand up with John Conyers and other Representatives to contest Ohio's electoral votes tomorrow.

Ohio's election was flawed and its citizens were disenfranchised. Nobody should have to wait ten hours to vote, as many Ohio citizens did. Secretary of State Blackwell has led the way with his maneuverings, starting back before the election when he tried to refuse voter registration forms because they were not printed on the correct weight of paper. And there are many more irregularities, including the fact that the Ohio recount was NOT conducted according to Ohio law.

This is not about changing the outcome of the election. This is about demonstrating that you support our citizens' voice in our democracy. And that you support a thorough investigation into the problems in our electoral process, and are committed to our right to vote.

As Rev. Jesse Jackson said, “If America is to be a champion of democracy abroad, it must clean up its elections at home. If it is to complain of fraudulent and dishonest election practices abroad, it cannot condone them at home. But more important, if our own elections are to be legitimate, then they must be honest, open, with high national standards.”

This is not a partisan issue. This is an American issue.

7. Here's my fax boilerplate:
Dear Senator <name>:

I am writing to you as a citizen who is gravely concerned about the future of our democracy because of overwhelming evidence of widespread election fraud in Ohio, Florida, New Mexico, and other states as well as in the national popular vote totals in the November 2 election. The incidence of voter suppression, human and machine error, and data manipulation constitute a crisis of corruption in government that makes Watergate look like a tea party.

The legitimacy of this election is now so highly suspect that to fail to shine the bright light of public scrutiny upon them would be to betray the fundamental basis of our democracy. Until vote totals are proven legitimate beyond a reasonable doubt, the American public cannot have confidence in the integrity of our system of governance.

Representative Conyers will be formally raising these issues concerning the state of Ohio when the Senate meets on January 6 to accept or reject the electoral votes for President. Do you consider it your duty to defend the constitution and the right of the people to have an honest election? If so then you must stand with the other Democratic and perhaps Republican Senators on January 6 in support of Rep. Conyers' request for an honest investigation of the vote.

Please help make us proud members of a great democracy once again.

Sincerely,

<me>
