3,893 "EXTRA" votes accidentally go to Bush from OHIO voting machine
WASHINGTON (AFP) - A computer error involving a voting machine cartridge reportedly handed President George W. Bush (news - web sites) an extra 3,893 votes in one precinct in the key state of Ohio.

The Columbus Dispatch reported voters who were checking posted results noticed the problem on the website of Franklin county where the capital, Columbus, is located.

The results gave Republican Bush 4,258 votes and Democrat John Kerry (news - web sites) 260 -- in a precinct where just 638 voters cast their ballots.

Matthew Damschroeder, the county electoral chief, said Bush actually drew 365 votes to Kerry's 260, while 13 other votes went to other candidates.

Damschroder said the computer error would have been detected in verification operations in the coming weeks.

A victory for Kerry in the close presidential race would have sent Kerry to the White House.

Tip of the iceberg? BernieBear

3. Why do no votes ever "accidently" go to Kerry?

4. I really don't want to believe this stuff
------------------------------------
When one of the cartridges from the precinct was plugged into a reader, it generated the faulty number.

The reader also recorded zero votes in the race between Arlene Shoemaker and Paula Brooks for county commissioner.
-------------------------------------

This is really scary stuff. This means the first time it had two errors and the second time it had none. Also, it is very interesting that it would have a zero count for the county commissioner vote count. If someone was going to use a fake cartridge a zero count for a smaller race would be a great patsy using the error excuse.

I have always said that Rove and boys have been playing by Nixon's play book and this time they might have gotten it right.

6. The only reason it was even noticed-
is because it was impossible for Bush to get more votes than there were actual people who voted. If computer glitch just shifted votes from Kerry to Bush-how in the world would we ever know that?

11. Check out the movie "Bush's Brain"
It's a 90 minute piece on Rove.
This guy has cheated at every campaign he's ever been involved with.
Reagan had to fire him in 1980 due to his outrageous behavior.

8. does this mean, then...
...that the vote totals will be adjusted?

And... if we find enough instances of this... how close do we have to get before the freakin' media starts making this the dig deal it deserves?

9. Great commentary here...
"Here we see the evolution of the spin from the stolen election. On Wednesday the news was full of puff pieces about how wonderful the electronic voting machines worked. Then, as more and more hard facts emerged the spin changed to how only sore losers dared suggest there were problems with the electronic voting systems. Now, as even more problems surface, the spin changes again to grudgingly admitting that there were indeed problems, but really, they were minor, and no one error would really affect the outcome.

Except that we are not talking about just one or two "errors" but hundreds that we know about, implying thousands more that we do not, and a clear statistical indication in the actuals versus exit polls which shows a clear skewing of the vote towards Bush in those states using paperless/audit less electronic voting machines.

The bottom line is that the errors do not need to demonstrably change the outcome. The errors already discredit the entire election."

10. Preliminary results of voting patterns in Ohio counties
We have been crunching voting results in Ohio and have discovered the following CONSISTENT PATTERN:

First, using congressional voting, we divided Ohio counties into 2 groups:
Group 1 - counties where congressional votes heavily favored Republicans;
Group 2 - counties where congressional votes were close or heavily favored Democrats.

In Group 1 counties, the number of ballots with no presidential vote were consistently 300 in 10,000 (3%).
In Group 2 counties, the number of ballots with no presidential vote were consistently 600 in 10,000 (6%).

That's 3% additional ballots without a presidential vote recorded ONLY in counties that were not reliably Republican!

We are beginning to see this SAME CONSISTENT PATTERN in other states.

12. More to come?
"...verification operations in the coming weeks..."

I'm hoping the "verification" turns up about 200,000 votes for Kerry... Same in other "close" states.

13. BLACK FAX protest of BLACK BOX voting!
I saw this on another forum, and please forgive me for posting this to a few threads here...I heard even the mods do that to get people's attention, and this is so important that I'd like everyone to help.

The Ohio Secretary of State, an African-American no less, needs to be told that we demand that Ohio's votes be counted. We can make this protest a little more meaningful by engaging in some Republican style dirty tricks.

Instead of e-mailing or sending letters demanding that the black box voting must be stopped...send FAXES. As the last page of your fax, send a black piece of paper like construction paper, saying this represents the black (hoodie??) you'll be wearing...the black voters who've been disenfranchised...the black representing the death of our right to vote...till our voting system is no longer held hostage by machines. Not only is this color appropriate, but thousands of people sending a black page will DEVOUR fax toner, and this will cause major inconvenience for them. These faxes won't be so easily ignored!

PLEASE help with this protest!! Address your faxed letters of protest to:

J. Kenneth Blackwell
Ohio Secretary of State
Fax: (614) 544-0649
