Boxer pushing paper trails, it's not just that Senator
Senator Boxer needs to also annunciate the electronic insecurity of our vote tabulation system . No encrypted links to central computers using microsoft Excel to tabulate votes is in my opinion a major flaw as large as no paper trail. To not address the insecurity of the tabulation centers is again missing the point of voting security. Why are credit card transactions encrypted, yet vote tabulations are not? Why are tabulation centers using insecure Microsoft Excel programs, anyone can hack into and change the vote counts, as evidenced by some documentation in Ohio, and shown on The Tonite Show by Dr Dean and Bev Harris ?

If the purpose of the challenge to Ohio's electorial college vote for bus* is about election irregularities , then why not mention this most importatnt issue ; electronic fraud at tabulation centers?Knowing how things are, the repugs will allow a paper trail, yet not make vote tabulation secure. The repugs will leave enough of a hole to be exploited next election, be sure of this.

I applaud Senator Boxer,I am a realist, and the repugs will not allow the way they won in 2000 and 2004 to be stopped, they hold the power . I see it will all pass in a few days, shrubhole will be elected, and the coprafascist repugs won again .We are in deep doo doo folks.

2. Couple of good points though
For the first time, we have taken the repubs by surprise. We are controlling the agenda (for a short time anyway). We are also taking away Bush's* mandate.

Also, the dems are serving notice on the repubs, that we're not going to roll over for them anymore.

All these are positives as far as I'm concerned.

3. no, not paper trails!
Paper-only hand counts must be the basis of all official and certified votes.

"Paper trails" are there in case of a recount. The Republicans will go to, and have gone to, any possible extent and means to sabotage a recount. They will stall it (Ohio 2004), pass laws against it (Florida), go to the Supreme Court to halt it. They will make rules that a recount cannot be done if the margin of victory is big.

What's a big margin of victory to a computer?

PAPER ONLY. PAPER ONLY. PAPER ONLY.

Settle for NOTHING LESS.

5. Last session's efforts by Boxer:
Last Congressional session, Boxer submitted S.2045 which was intended to bring a paper-ballot requirement to all voting systems.

Other bills were submitted for consideration, including offerings from Clinton (awful bill) and Graham (photo copy of Holt's HR2239.)

Later, Boxer/Clinton/Graham joined forces and submitted a combined bill as S.2313

For a sense of what S.2313 looked like, look here:

6. Exactly , vote reform is over with repug control
Make no mistake about it, how long do some wish to wait? 20 years until it all get's corrected? I agree paper and paper only, but the machines are out there and States will not throw them away.

I see that power rules over the constitution, law . Those in power hold all the strings.

Wait until they kill the fillibuster, the Dems only power, then nothing, the Dems might as well go home, all because of election fraud. Stand up now, or watch it all go away for a long long time.

7. Senator Durbin ; the system is flawed , but the results are certain
What the hell is this? The process was flawed, but the election was certain; bus* won.

The words from this Senator; are conflicting, as is the Supreme Court decision of 2000.

The laws are there, the evidence is there, yet one Senator , Boxer stood up, no other Senators did .

Each Senator says we have the right to vote, yet will not fight for us to have a fair vote , admitting Ohio had many problems , yet will allow the Ohio electors vote for bus*

Sleep on Senators , House members, you have abandonned us . We all need to elect those who will stand up for us, not say ya, there were problems, and then do nothing.

The repugs will stop any reforms. They have all the power , face it folks , Democracy is over for now, and the weak Dems caused it to happen by not demanding , and fighting for us. It's the DEms fault, they didn't raise hell.
