Suppose the final recount goes Kerry's way
imagine the furor in the USA, especially in the red states!!!

I truly doubt that Kerry will get the final count going his way, but it's something to bemuse.

1. Why would the red states be pissed?
It would be the blue states, and the sane, educated red staters that would be ballistic.

11. Now now, please don't indulge in bigotry
The red state people are people too. Shit, I live in a county that's nearly as red as my state is blue. Plenty of smart people here of all political stripes.

Division will not work. We need to find common ground, get rid of the divisive and wedge issues, and get more votes.

That is the bottom line.

14. please--we worked our butts off for Sen Kerry
Al Franken noted that in most of the red states, almost half (and probably more) voted for Senator Kerry. Every day I volunteered at the local headquarters there were so many people coming in who wanted to do something to support Kerry (or get Bush out of the White House) While I was out Thursday morning, several people told me they hated the way the election turned out (and I wasn't asking, they wanted to talk) All of us who live in Red States and voted for Sen. Kerry and Edwards are hurting as much as you voters in the Blue States.

The red states aren't as red as they'd have us believe.
Don't miss the sattelite map of the lights.

5. Oh please, so pedantic!
How about the red folks? Imagine how pissed they would be if their man Bush got the Presidency away from him based on the recount.

8. Of course, then they would have their 10000 lawyers swoop in and
to fight, and the liberal media will never ever ever stop pointing out "But Kerry conceded the battle, so he can't be Pres, even if he did win!"

10. We really arent THAT red as a nation...
Guys, even after all the rightwing psychos came out to end freedom by banning gay marriage and voting for shrub, we STILL were Ohio away from winning. Guys, we aren't as in bad shape as people want us to say. Donate to BBV to get recounts in the states - this is big. No voter fraud in my country!

12. Kerry's earlier concession would not be a problem
As KarenvanHoek points out on Daily Kos (http://hunter.dailykos.com/story/2004/11/4/224812/643), concession is not a legally-binding thing-- it is purely ceremonial.

16. It's bigger than Kerry! It's about the ability to audit the democratic ...

process....Without an audit capability we are at the mercy of constant speculation and lack of trust in our elected political leaders.....

Imagine if even 5 voting machines were recording votes incorrectly throughout a day.....how many is that?
