OKAY, NEXT!!!
We either did or did not get what we were hoping for. We were or were not satisfied with what took place today. But these things have happened. So now what?

I won't say that I'm not dissapointed and I didn't wish for more - I did. I do NOT accept that Bush WON this election and I never will. But this matter is done now. So for those of us still prepared to keep working, no matter how we feel about TODAY, what's next?

I think we could start by working toward a real paper trail and supporting those who spoke for us, esp. those who voted against certifying the Ohio's electoral votes. Feel free to add your own ideas for initiatives here.

I suggest we be supportive of those who are still upset. Any of us have a right to be. But let's get started working TOGETHER on what we CAN change now that we know what we can't change, instead of bashing eachother. Let's NOT let this happen in 2008.

We can all agree we need to fight for one person=one vote
We need to fight for greater integrity and accountability in our voting system so that we can be more confident of the results in 2008.

1. Next, lets make sure the Conyers report is heard around the world
If the foreign press knows, then our representatives will have to educate themselves on this and we can educate the public more easily.

4. Not 2008, 2006
The 2006 elections, and making sure the paper trail is in effect then should be our top priority.

7. I didn't mean that 2006 is not important.
What I mean is we don't what happened in 2000, 2004 to happen in 2008, etc, etc...

23. I think some people need to be convinced that fraud happens
even though they may not be affected by it. I think the population is very naive about this.

24. The MSM referred to today's events as an interruption of something
"ceremonial". Some of the politicians seemed to react as if this were entirely inappropriate. But there apparently is no constitutional process which allows for an effective time and place to question the vote! Blackwell had power over this until he certified the vote and there was nothing else we could do until today. There needs to be a better legal process for contesting an election!

6. We need a highly publicized full investigation into 2004 election problems
We MUST have a highly publicized investigation into the 2004 election. This attempt by the republican party to beat this issue down is sickening.

8. an obvious is the disconnect with especially our senate and house
maybe like for example have a mass emailing to nevada senator that doesnt know the facts of election fraud in his own state. do that state to state. colorado salazar. new mexico. inform hillary

tell them to start doing the research in their state. they stand for fixin this, they have to look into their own state and learn what happened so they can address. bush is rubbing of solve a problem with out any information

20. Its not just leaders uninformed...
I think we need to keep working to prove election fraud, if we can prove that, then we can get corporate media attention. Until we reach the masses with direct PROOF, the majority of Americans will not take anything else we try to do seriously. The BASIC need here is to PROVE we have credibility about election fraud.

11. Thank you sepia_steel for this great post!
I would like to do a cost analysis of all available voting methods currently used in US.

Surely, we can get these machines tossed and replaced with something similar to the small, cheep, fraud-proof machines used in India.

And, work toward federal standards.

And please no more, "I'm really depressed," or "I'm so happy!" threads. Be happy, be depressed, be whatever. Just keep it in one thread. We don't need a bunch of I'm-so-unhappy threads.

how is the mail-in-system kept secure??? Seems that mailed in ballots could be tossed or destroyed without anyone knowing.

But they seemed to have no real anamolies. There is ALWAYS a way for someone to defraud, though. You make a good point.

There is a whole lot of work to do. The ground work for each has been laid today. Number 1 is the easiest and most immediate and will help facilitate 2 and 3.

Man, where is Abbie Hoffman when you need him?

19. What I'd like to see
Get all voter intimidation and voter disenfranchisement on record. In every state where suspected malfeasance occurred, nail down who was responsible. Where applicable, take the wrong-doers to court. Then go after whoever was responsible for BBV being brougt into their states. If necessary, change how voting methods are determined. Seems like there was an awful lot of behind the scenes buying of these BBVs. I guess what I'm saying is, nail down everything as fact, so there's a strong foundation for complete voting reform.

22. What next? How about treating it like a crime?

If you rob a bank, it shouldn't matter what party you belong to, and they don't stop trying to nail you just because you spent all the money or because or there's another bank robbery scheduled to start in a few years.

Why should stealing an election be any different?

I say, keep after them.

26. What's next? One word: impeachment.
I always knew it would come to that, which is why I'm not terribly upset about what happened today. I wish Hillary and others had voted YES on objecting to the Ohio votes, but Dem courage seems to have atrophied and isn't going to come back overnight.
