Voting counting issue is making me wonder
Edited on Fri Nov-05-04 11:49 PM by are_we_united_yet
Ya know, our side is either involved in an incredibly clandestine operation validating vote counts or they have completely bowed out of this voting matter altogether.

I like the former scenario emotionally, but if it is the latter, that raises a lot of questions.

Could this election have been staged by both parties or have I crossed over into the dark side of the conspiracy theorists?

3. I speak
of the Kerry Campaign and the 1E04 lawyers. Not the heroic public citizens who dedicate a portion of their life ensuring voter equity.
Has the Kerry Campaing been actively and rigoorously pursuing this?

2. No it's an understandable thought
Just one massive con by the Corporate elite to keep the masses entertained while they Rape the World for their own benefit.

5. I am giving K/E the benefit of the doubt. Besides, would Elizabeth
Edwards DARE come in here as she has if her hubby had sold us upriver? She doesn't strik me as the two-faced type.

6. elizabeth edwards quoted thomas jefferson
"A little patience, and we shall see the reign of witches pass over, their spells dissolve, and the people, recovering their true sight, restore their government to its true principles. It is true that in the meantime we are suffering deeply in spirit, and incurring the horrors of a war and long oppressions of enormous public debt. If the game runs sometimes against us at home we must have patience till luck turns, and then we shall have an opportunity of winning back the principles we have lost, for this is a game where principles are at stake."

11. I think we're thinking along the same lines
...I read that quote very carefully. Could mean just what it says. Or not.

8. I'm not questioning
the character of the participants. I questioning the integrity of our political machinery. Elizabeth Edwards strikes me as a very sincere and decent person. Our political process however as controlled by lobbyists and Corporateinterests get somewhat less than a stellar review from me.

9. No need to apologize for being a conspiracy theorist
That's another example of dems doing what the repugs want. Everytime someone says the govt is evil, the pugs call them a crackpot conspiracy theorist as if that's as bad as a baby-raper. It's stupid for dems to agree with that.

It's certainly being kept from the mainstream media. Remember all the times people are like WHY DON'T THE JOURNALISTS PICK THIS UP? This attitude is now being used in our favor. The media has been lambasted as "biased" from both sides so there's no point involving them until the story can be packaged up neatly into forty seconds of teleprompter text.

On edit: Realize now that even though the vote was split there are many more intelligent people (liberals and conservatives alike) now paying attention to politics.

I thought Shrub's little speech about the "one question rule" was meant to be funny, but I'm sure I'm not the only person who thought he behaved like an absolute dick.

Hannity was taking calls from "Angry Democrats" telling them that "Dr. Hannity is In" and barely containing his dripping schadenfreude. They've been calling what happened a "mandate" but it's much closer than they realize and "people in power" should know better than to ridicule the people you supposedly represent.

13. Well, I'll say this -
If John Edwards expects to have the chance to run for President again, expects to be seen as a leader, he'd better make sure something is done about this while we have a chance.
