All the talk about suppression, none about the MACHINES
Was a mistake.

If people have more machines but they still steal the votes, what is accomplished there?

1. What do the machines matter
If you can't even get in the door to use them? What came first, the chicken or the egg?

4. Those expensive and rare machines...
...are in part excuse to keep people from squeezing through the door to vote. If people were checking boxes on slips of paper, more would have gotten to vote.

The other function, of course, is to allow the hackers easy access.

It's all about the machines, a point that was deliberately avoided today.

7. But it was only one half of the argument.
You need both: stop the suppression AND stop the machine fraud.

17. Hillary was outspoken about electronic voting without a paper trail
She looked very worked up over it too.

8. Yes. I saw that. Very good.
Still the balance of the discussion was on the suppression.

I am not diminishing the importance of this point. But, if people still vote on machines that rob the votes, what does it matter?

So they get in the door--but their vote is vaporized--why bother to vote at all?

3. Jesse Jackson brought up the Machines, and I think McKinney
and some others did as well.

5. People have to get to the polls first before they can be frauded at them..
...though I do agree the machines are the bigger problem. It's harder to suppress reports of disenfranchisement than it is to hide fraudulant machine operation.

9. The machines are a grey area
They aren't ideal in their current state, but I don't think any senator wants to go on record as advocating a red check mark in a box.

The problems with access are fairly evident.

14. You Were NOT LISTENING THEN. They Most Certainly DID
That's number ONE>

Number TWO is that by focusing on the suppression of 100,000 Voters )mainly African American) they made the GOP look like racists.

15. too many have been fooled into thinking the machines are not a problem,
Carolab, and maybe it is all just 'so over their heads' overwhelming for them to imagine.
