Let's assume that Kerry really gave up (and not that they plan something) then it looks to me that Kerry or those in the Dem Party who decide these things just didn't want it so much that they saw it as something worth fighting for till the end (the Repubs would have done that).
And somehow, at least for me, that doesn't appear positive for a possible Kerry Presidency. But that is just a feeling I have.
