2. There's a huge campaign going on by the republicans for a revote.
A revote would cost the tax payers 4 million. The Dems had to pay for the recount themselves. The repubs don't want to pay for their recount. Instead they would much rather spend the money on derrogatory radio ads that call the Washington State Legislature unconstitutional and unpatriotic. Not a good strategy.

Gregoir will be the governor once she's sworn in.

4. There is a legal challenge, but nothing that can't be snuffed...
by the sec. of state.

Don't worry. The repubs are trying to make a big stink, but the party is weak here. They're mostly moderates, and moderates aren't known for being political activists enough to change anything, but maybe the safety standards on their SUVs.

6. actually, when the result changed, the dems got their dough back.
They had to get it together first though. And no one howled louder than Chris Vance about cost to the state:

http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/local/201132_governor25.html?searchpagefrom=5&searchdiff=34

From the SEATTLE POST-INTELLIGENCER Thursday, November 25, 2004

(Washington) State Republican Party Chairman Chris Vance was livid about Gregoire's refusal to give up the fight.

"I hope that Christine Gregoire will take some time over this Thanksgiving holiday and reconsider her decision and concede this election rather than drag this state into political chaos," Vance said. "It's the most contentious thing you could do."

Well, until you assclowns started demanding a 'Revote'

5. Someone should insist on prosecuting the Snohomish vote machine fraud

Correcting that vote would widen her marging by a lot.
