1. Here's a start...
I recently looked at CNN (altered) exit polls to see how Democrats voted for Kerry in Southern states. I seem to remember that in most of these states, Republicans voted for Bush at 90% or higher rates.

According to CNN exit polls, Southern state Democrats voted this way for Kerry:

Alabama 92%
Arkansas 82%
Florida 85%
Georgia 87%
Kentucky 71%
Louisiana 78%
Mississippi 85%
North Carolina 84%
South Caroline 92%
Tennessee 90%
Texas 87%
Virginia 92%
West Virginia 69%

2. See heres the evidence of where the democratic party screwed up
Ive always wondered how we managed to go from 15 point victories in west Virginia for clinton to 15 point losses against bush. Its due to losing the red neck vote. Only 69% of dems there voted for kerry. Thats horrible! Dean was right (as usual) when he said we needed to appeal to people with confederate flags in their pickup trucks.

4. wow. and the pundits kept saying west virginia was more in play
than east virginia because of lack of party organization and a strong GOP.
dontcha love it when the pundits are WAAAAAAY wrong. true we lost by 10% here, but the money that was wasted in W. Virginia could have been spent here and given us a fighting chance.

9. Makes no sense...
If you look at just the sampling of andecdotals here on DU, of ALL the republicans voting for Kerry, and all the cross over.. if we are just a small sample.. then I know it's been happening nationwide. This election stinks..
