Homeland security itself did not do the lockdown. Rather, it was the county officials who made that judgement.

The Justice Department or whoever goes after this will have to subpoena those Bat Cave phone records, from when Rover arrogantly bragged he was going up there to make some calls, and then the numbers started changing. He can't have them destroyed can he???

Promises of covering...
  • Warren lockdown of vote counting...
  • six Congressmen requesting immediate investigation...
  • did new voting technology tamper with the election?
  • why did 29 heavily Dem counties w/ OpScan ballots vote heavily Republican?

Looks like he's being careful. He can't be seen as a foilhatter if this is to get traction.

I think treading carefully may be the right way to start. Let's see how freaked RoveCo gets at the first rumblings. If they go postal right away - or if they get reeeaaaaally secretive, I think we can get to 'em.

17. No, I think it's the right approach for now
Start out quiet. Ask for a look into the system to see what can be approved. "What are these irregularities everyone is talking about? This isn't a partisan issue." Etc. Etc. Etc.

Plenty of time for confrontation later, if issues are concrete and evidence exists.

I say that now, though. ;)

33. Ohio can't even START counting provisional & absentee ballots until 11/11
We can't request a recount in Ohio when they haven't officially had an initial count, yet.

NH has to be looked into by Nader's request.

The Electoral College meets in mid-December. We have a month. If we start getting close to the EC date, then I think it is the time to become more aggressive in our approach. Otherwise, with nothing concrete (as opposed to questions), Faux News and Rove will brand Conyers and the other Congressmen as 'Sore Losers'. We need evidence. Look how much we've gathered in a week. We've got time to do this.

I am SO proud of Keith O!!! This has finally got million viewer plus attention and will be discussed by 1,000's tomorrow at the water cooler! WOOHOO!!!!!!!

The counties with heavy dems showing heavy increases for Dubya and losses for Kerry is the biggest load of CRAP. With all the shame Bush brought himself with the war, economy, etc, it is VERY HARD to believe that more than 25-30% of Dems would vote for him in FL, let alone more than half as "voted".

You have earned my complete respect for daring to discuss the vote fraud issue. So glad you are not intimidated by the apparent "lockdown" the other journalists decided to heed. Please keep on this story and encourage others to cover it. If there is solidarity in our numbers, we can have a chance to take back our Democracy. Best regards, <bear>

34. Hope is on the way with Keith!
Hi Everyone! I have been trying to get registered since Friday to be able to join you in the discussion about the vote fraud! It's been driving me crazy not to be able to get into this board, but finally I got my okay to register today!

I thought Keith did an outstanding job tonight! He used the F word and the T (tamper) word, and gave Conyers every opportunity to say as much as he wanted to, which is unlike most of the other pundits who have their own agenda and will cut off anyone who is about to say something they don't want said. Yes, Conyers was very cautious, but chances are the majority of viewers tonight haven't been glued to their computers researching the fraud that just occurred in our country one week ago tomorrow, so they need to be introduced to the idea first, which Conyers did a good job with. I was disappointed he did not focus more on THIS election, but at this point, we should take whatever we can get. What is MOST important is that we need to now work to KEEP THIS STORY GOING! The good news is that 3 new congressman have joined the cause...that is not nearly enough. We all need to be contacting our own Senators and Congressmen. Keith just gave us the opening exposing this on mainstream cable news, and that gives us credibility to take it to our reps. LET'S GO! And, keep sending Olberman any new info that he can use to keep the story going. Remember the Swift liars...they kept it going with little bits and pieces....that's what we need to do with this....keep feeding him little bits and pieces, or big bits and pieces...whatever we can.

Edited on Mon Nov-08-04 09:21 PM by txindy
I've posted similar thoughts in other threads about Keith's show tonight. I especially loved his interview style. Chris Matthews, or, heaven forbid, the Faux News crew, would've shouted down Conyers. Keith let him talk at his own pace. Journalism on TV! Ha! Who knew?! ;)

I also agree that Conyers' tone was just right for this time. As the word spreads and more info. is uncovered, the tone can change. Once we hit the aggressive mark, though, we can't go back. Cautious is better for the moment, I think. Introduce the topic to the country and then add more and more.

Welcome to DU, Northwestmom4Kerry! :hi:

If Enquirer has competition with this story they may try harder.

I wonder what a private detective could dig up about the people in power in Warren County. Recent deposits of $$$?

Wonder how many Rangers and Pioneers Bush has in Warren County

50. Jack Welch must be fit to be tied! Let's see whether other GE-owned outlets
pick up this story or ignore it. Wouldn't it draw attention from Viacom's outlets (starting with The Daily Show) and other media if CNBC and NBC ignored sister station MSNBC's bombshell?

The consequences of media mega-concentration occasionally can be fun to watch!

57. Warren County numbers
Edited on Mon Nov-08-04 10:07 PM by lizzieforkerry
OK you heard them say that no one is calling the Warren County Commissioners to complain (maybe because we know they are republican) so here are their numbers- PLEASE CALL.

Receptionist 513-695-1250
Larry Crisenbery 513-695-1257
Mike Kilburn 513-695-1258
Pat Arnold-Smith 513-695-1252
Warren County Board of Elections 513-695-1358
Warren County Switchboard (in case numbers are wrong or changed) 513-695-1000

Thanks.
Cities in Warren County include Lebanon, Springboro, Franklin,Mason, Landen

There were two schools about 300 yards from the BoE that were in session on Tues and two precincts voted in them. Why was school not cancelled? Why were voters allowed to vote there until 7:30. Why were poll workers allowed to be there until 9-10 pm? The Commissioners told Olbermann that on a scale of 1-10 Warren County was a 10. Don't you think we as parents of kids that go to Holbrook Elementary and Louisa Wright Elementary deserved to know of the potential danger to our children? The Board of Education # is 513-695-2900. Bill Sears is our Superintendant (actually a great guy, so go easy)

Warren County Division of Emergency Management is 513-695-1313 is a good place to call to see why the citizens were not warned. Please get all names of who you talk to and write down quotes if they deny Homeland Security Threat!!!!

60. What to say....?
Perhaps it'll be clear after I watch Olbermann's show on at 9 here on satellite (2nd showing). Or is it appropriate for a Californian to complain?? Hell, it's only that the life of our whole country depends on it...I'd hate to hurt anyone's feelings.

71. I don't think you need to tell them who you are or where
you are from- just a concerned citizen. COnsidering the county is 72% Republican you don't feel safe giving your name, especially since all of your yard signs were stolen and everyone in power is a republican!

I would say that you are concerned about the legitamacy of the vote counting because you had heard that the press had been barred from watching the vote counting. I would also say that you are concerned that our county would be under such a grave security threat and no citizens were informed and the schools, even the elementary schools that are right next to the BoE, were in session. Why were they so concerned about the safety of the reporters but not for the citizens, the kids, the voters who voted in the area precincts, the poll workers that were there into the night? I (a friend of yours) walked into the BoE earlier that day and wasn't questioned, or even looked twice at, even though no one working there had seen me much before (I had to walk into a large lobby, walk to the elevators, go up 2 floors and down a hall, plenty of people saw me). IF there was a threat, why were they so lax in security earlier in the day?

73. Thanks. Good coaching...
I am angry if parents weren't warned and there was a national security threat. I will watch the show to get more of a context of what was going on.

92. Yes call!
If the people who committed fraud get nervous about being caught, they may do something stupid.

I bet no one in Warren County thought their actions would make national news and that MSNBC would be mocking them.

the chimp (in light of his uber-bosses being a defense contractor that does well in war/under Bush) ...

80. Keith ROCKS!
And I emailed and told him so...I also emailed Ted Kennedy and my favorite Texas Dem--Lloyd Doggett (I met him once and was so impressed at what a truly nice guy he was--but he's not in my district).
Since I am new--thanks earlier for the welcomes--it can't be as bad as the last board I posted on--pre-election wasn't bad but not the vapid rabid Repugs have taken over. Had to scratch on the door here for days to get in,lol.
Also please excuse if I screw up and post something that is old news but after seeing his one-term face saying Kerry wasn't inspirational today, lol, renewed my venom..but am curious if anyone has seen this and what thoughts are and the frightening thought that the Bush's have had their dirty little hands on every horrible historical moment in our history..and..in the end...someone always dies. Sorry if I am posting it in the wrong place. Thanks again for the welcome!

It didn't help this morning to hear Imus mumble something about getting rid of him too. I'm done with Imus and his incessant phoney whining.

How can we get Air America into more cities???

89. Imus
I listened to that bit from Imus--he said something about Keith not getting enough marketshare so he might get canned, but Imus also stated that he "liked" Keith--he's said this before, although he bitched about him for weeks before admitting that Olbermann really was talented.

At least, Imus is still bitching about Bush winning the election, albeit, self-serving bitching.

Electronic Voting Angst (Keith Olbermann)

"Interestingly, none of the complaining emailers took issue with the remarkable results out of Cuyahoga County, Ohio. In 29 precincts there, the County’s website shows, we had the most unexpected results in years: more votes than voters.

I’ll repeat that: more votes than voters. 93,000 more votes than voters.

Oops.

Talk about successful get-out-the-vote campaigns! What a triumph for democracy in Fairview Park, twelve miles west of downtown Cleveland. Only 13,342 registered voters there, but they cast 18,472 votes.

Vote early! Vote often! "
