Imus slamming Olbermann and Conyers this morning...
The onslaught begins. Just saw the "tail end" of this Imus segment where he and another guy were just being hysterical over Olbermann's suggestion that the election may have been rigged.

They made fun of Conyers, mocking the way he speaks (even seemed racial). Nonetheless, Imus suggested that, regarding Olbermann, "They've got to get him off of there." I presume he thinks MSNBC should drop Keith.

NO IMUS... it's your sorry ass that should be kicked off the station, asshole!!! :grr:  :grr:

... regardless of their relative positions.

For one, the rankings wouldn't change the fact that Imus is a jackass.

I was channel flipping, that's why I only caught the very end of it. I did have to listen because it was so shocking. NO SIR, Imus does NOT get my business! I quickly flicked it off after scraping my jaw off the floor from what I heard.

6. Imus makes fun of everyone...
When he opened the show, he treated the story seriously, then started joking.

Zell Miller is scheduled & Imus will discuss vote fraud with him.

At least the subject is being discussed, & lots of political types listen to his show.

and he was actually saying that he didn't like the idea of the e-voting machines. However, he still made a disparaging comment about Olbermann again and said, "They need to get him off."

Well crap, Imus, which was is it? You don't like it that the e-voting machines could be defrauded, but hate the idea that it really could have happened?? Get real!

I tell you, these bipolars like Imus and Tweety really need some serious psychomeds.

he and his wife was on about their foundation and he was so rude to her, granted she talked alot, but he belittled her on TV. It must have bothered him to share the screen with her. Jerk.

19. If this was during the Clinton impeachment time
then he went off the air because he quit.

He had just joined when the Clinton-is-the-only-guy-who-has-ever-had-extra-marital-sex story was taking over the world. I remember the show where he said that this was not the way he wanted to spend his life, and then I guess he joined ESPN.

If Imus is ridiculing him, good, more press. If there was ever a face that was made for radio, it's Imus' sorry face.

And, no I don't watch. I am very protective of my retinas.

38. I've Been A Fan Of Keith Olbermann
for many years.

He became known on ESPN and would do Sport Center with another funny guy, Dan Patrick. He left ESPN and ended up on Fox and really hated it.

So he quit them and couldn't work or mention them for 8 months because of his contract and that's why he mentions them and O'Reily so much. He's never minced words on how he feels about them.

That's also why he had so much fun with O'Reily's little problem.

Keith is great.

16. Personally I send them email with links to the fraud.
It is unlikely that the head of the show will even see it but to put a nugget of doubt in the minds of the people reading the emails is a start. If they hear something enough it might start to click.

18. I still had my TV on MSNBC when I turned it on this morning
from re-watching Countdown last night at midnight. So that's how I heard Imus going off on Keith this morning. He said that they needed to get him off the air--that he actually believed this "stuff" and was taking it "seriously."

Re KO's employment history--when his contract with ESPN expired in 1997, he went to MSNBC for the first time and was there about a year and a half. He got tired of covering the Monica mess night after night and when Fox Sports offered to buy out his contract, he took them up on the offer and jumped ship to Fox Sports. I believe he was there for about two years. He said that in the middle of contract negotiations, they called him in and told him to clear out his desk. He was quite surprised about it and couldn't figure out what had gone wrong.

Later, he was told by someone on the inside that it was because he had reported a story that Rupert Murdoch, then owner of the LA Dodgers, was looking to sell the time. Before he reported the story on-air, he called up the Murdoch people and told them that he wouldn't go with the story if they objected to him running it and they told him, "No, go ahead and do the story." Apparently after it aired, Rupert had a change-of---well, he doesn't have a heart, so we'll just say he changed his mind. And KO was fired. They paid him to NOT work for the next 9 months or so. As he said later, he was the highest paid sportscaster in the US--who Fox paid NOT to broadcast sports or anything else!

After that contract expired, he was a special contributor for CNN for a period of maybe six months or more, then NBC Sports hired him to be one of their primary anchors for the 2004 Olympics, but at the same time, they needed someone to take offer for Jerry Nachman who was at that time, dying of cancer. Keith's agent worked out a deal where he could go back to MSNBC. I guess things must have went well for him filling in for Nachman because eventually, they proposed the idea of Countdown to him and he's been doing that since Feb. or March of 2003. He ended up not doing the Olympics this year because of news events at home and that would have meant leaving the show for at least a month, which he didn't want to do and apparently the network didn't want him to do.

Regarding ratings, Imus is actually pretty highly rated and regularly beats both Fox and CNN. Keith's ratings have improved vastly, and last month, his show beat Paula Zahn's show on CNN. But who did MSNBC choose to promote instead? Chris Matthews's victory over Anderson Cooper's 360. They don't do much promoing of his show they way they do Hardball, probably because Hardball is their most highly rated show of all. But I did read on an industry-related website (tvnewser.com) that Keith's 12am shows actually draw higher ratings than his live shows at 8pm.

And upon reading this entire post I realize I know way more about Keith Olbermann than I should. :eyes:

Then I guess they'd better get a few million straight-jackets for us. I for one believe and there seems to be alot of evidence of MASSIVE VOTER FRAUD by the republicans. I may have to nominate KO for president in 2008. Make Imus his Secretary of White House Bathroom Maintenance.

37. Wait! Maybe could appeal to...
I never watch TV, let alone MSNBC, but tuned in over the election. I saw Imus on the morning after. He said he was depressed that we had "elected war criminals" to be in the White House again. So I am surprised. I never listen to him, but when I heard his mourning that Kerry had lost, I thought maybe he had some integrity???

But what was weird was then one of the other goons on the show said, "Who's your Daddy, Imus" and he said, reluctantly, "Bush is my Daddy". I thought, who owns his balls?

41. Here's what I am emailing to Imus
A big thankyou, Mr. Imus, for giving national coverage to Keith Obermann's wonderful bravery in exposing the presidential election fraud!

I had actually missed Countdown, much to my regret, Monday evening. It's always my favorite political commentary show because his take is so intelligent and so free of bias, which can't be said for most of the talking heads. As I said, though, I had missed the Monday segment and didn't know he had discussed the manifold evidence of Republican vote rigging, but you made sure this morning that everyone in your wide audience knows. After seeing you this morning, I went right to Keith's blog and saw that he is on the trail and scooping the rest the mainstream media. I emailed all my friends with the link and made sure they know too.

What a man!!! Keith, I mean. But you did a good job too, getting the story out too, just as Chris Matthews helped do with the Swiftboat ads. Both of you did your best to spread the word.

Thanks again,
Jenny Decker
