IMUS ridiculing Oberman
for his story on stealing the election. Bernard imitating Oberman saying they are also stealing his ratings.

They're making a joke out of this.

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

1. At his very best, Imus is pathetic.
I have no idea why he even gets airtime. The man is a caricature.

3. MSNBC must have signed a multi-year deal with the idgit.
I just have no idea why they'd keep him on, unless they're contractually obligated.

8. I can only watch Imus for a few minutes. Him and the idiots he has on
air with him are truly pathetic. Once in a great while there will be a good give and take from some guests, but for the most part they suck. But that's just my opinion.

20. It's like watching the group of high school sophomore boys
who always get left out of athletics, aren't together enough to make the chess club, and who's idea of recreational activity is to see how many PBRs they can chug in two minutes without puking. I particulary can't stand that sniping creepy producer (Bernard?) and the bald sports guy who thinks if he doesn't do his laundry and shows attitude all the time, it makes him manly.

12. Okay, time to bump the ratings for progressives.
We need to post on DU the times when Dan Rather & Olberman are on. And then we need to remind each other to tune in each day until it becomes a habit. Let them see the bump in ratings as we all come off the internet for 1 1/2 to 2 hours a day.

show a few times. I simply don't see how his show stays on the air. Bloody awful TV/radio.

15. I thought Imus was talking about getting rid of Rove or the
election crowd in Florida. His talk was about voting machines not leaving a trail - don't cash the check yet, etc. I didn't hear anything that was abusive re Keith Olberman. Did I miss something?

Edited on Tue Nov-09-04 08:31 AM by Flubadubya
He was being his "bipolar" self, where in one breath he was decrying the e-voting system, but in the next he was trash-mouthing Olbermann for believing this particular election could have been victim of a fraud.

He believed it could happen, but thinks it's outrageous to think that it might have affected this election. Bwahahaha... just shows what an IDIOT Imus really is. Olbermann is 100 steps ahead of Imus' ass!!

21. Actually
Don Imus is a shock jock cretin that thrives on controversy, but most of the time I feel he tends to lean Democratic. He is known for his crassness and insults--that is his trademark and always has been. Now think about this scenario...what is the best way to get something into the mainstream? Methinks maybe a little controversy?
Suppose..now just suppose...that he wants to get the message out to people. Because of his style and what his listener demands..he can't just come on and say "Hey this is great..look at this". Nobody would pay attention. They want to hear who he is going to insult next.
BUT by creating a controversy where none exists...it starts conversation. It gets the story out there. AND he made sure that he let the listeners know how to get it...watch Keith Olberrman.
Now if you told people there were two cars parked down the road you need to take a look at..chances are, your message wouldn't sink in.
BUT if you tell them that there is a massive car wreck with lots of casualties...you will have spectators. And right now--spectators are what we need.

25. I don't think he is that sharp
He just seems to be rambling to me. I can barely stand to watch him when he has a guess on I want to see. MSNBC should have a show that wakes us up at that time, Imus puts me to sleep.

Most of the mainstream media won't even acknowledge that some people think bush stole the election.

28. Can't start new threads yet
Keith Olbermann address the response to his report last night and promises continued coverage. Article to long to copy, here is a snippet from the middle:

It may be different elsewhere, but there was no struggle to get this story on the air, and evidently I should be washing the feet of my bosses this morning in thanks. Because your reaction was a little different than mine. By actual rough count, between the 8 p.m. ET start of the program and 10:30 p.m. ET last night, we received 1,570 e-mails (none of them duplicates or forms, as near as I can tell). 1,508 were positive, 62 negative.
