Interesting Conversation with Reporter today
Edited on Tue Nov-09-04 05:24 PM by PCIntern
A Reporter for a, shall we say, VERY MAJOR, metropolitan paper, based in the NE, told me today that it is not the Reporters on the ground who are stifling this story. It's the Editors who are reassigning reporters to, essentially as he put it, bullshit stories. People in middle-management are afraid for their careers, and don't want to be on the chopping block. But there's a lot of sniffing - the young pups want to emulate Woodward and Bernstien (they should only know what REALLY went on there - things are not always as they seem). This would be a much bigger story than Watergate. It would stagger the very pillars upon which this country was founded and would 'shake the world'.

I believe, as so many others here do, that things are beginning to break. Stay tuned...Developing...

ON EDIT: Funny thing: he said that he and other reporters were surfing all these websites looking for info. Now THAT'S what they call Bullshit Reporting in J-School. What you'e supposed to do is go out and TALK to people and get them to confess their superiors' sins. Schmucks all the way around.

Thank you for posting this. It gave me goosebumps.

5. Read the PW
That's the Philadelphia Weekly...that's an alternative paper.

You weren't around for the Kennedy Assassination Days when alternative papers were the only places which talked about this stuff. There is essentially no circulation - it's like preaching to the choir. NBC News is not gonna footnote the Village Voice.

34. at some point hubby will come around and realize that he has a stake
in count the vote.

Mine just got his eyes opened -- when he learned that the computers which count the vote are connected to the internet. He's a computer engineer and his bro (MIT engineer) just sent a family e-mail about the problems with BBV. This information came after hubby was battling a data miner in his work computer which is connected to the Internet. Other secure computer he works on are NOT connected to the internet.

NOW he understands! Just 7 days after the election. After all we lesser beings (non engineers) don't know what we are talking about (NOT)! <said with much humor you engineering types!>

I think some inside source needs to get "voter's remorse" and start sharing some important information...

So, who are the disenfranchised bush people? Who might come forth as a stealth source?

3. E-mailed every name for the NYT, LAT, NPR...
asking Why Are'nt You Reporting What Is Going On? The news is going to break and you have a chance to make history. I also said how betrayed I feel by them not saying anything while our democracy is at stake. I said you might get in trouble now for reporting the truth, but we'll all be in much bigger trouble later if you don't.

6. Great approach to those letters
:toast: If one of our letters can find its way to the right person, someone willing to stick his/her neck out for a possibly abundantly rewarding story, this'll break. Middle-management may not want to risk their careers in the data-gathering stage, but they might change their minds if a complete story is handed to them. I hope.

26. You may be on to something there
Perhaps there are some ties to certain counties in Ohio that we don't know about. Also, how did each county determine its method of voting? Are there commonalities of any sort between the counties with similar voting machines? How did the vote go in those counties? What did the exit polls say? What was the official turnout vs. what is the anecdotal evidence of turnout?

I would bet the local newspapers would have this information. Some would be available online. The anecdotal evidence might be harder to find.

27. Here they are:
Board Members

Susan Johnson, Director
Sharon Fisher, Deputy Director
Robert Hammock, Chairperson
Stella Hagemeyer, Board Member
Barbara Sizemore, Board Member
Leslie J. Spaeth, Board Member

http://www.co.warren.oh.us/bdelec/

Leslie Spaeth is also one of bush's electors. Is that normal?

I googled her name with bush's and found a link to a PDF file, but I don't know how to post a PDF link.

Another name on the elector list is David Johnson. Johnson is common name, but could be husband of Susan.

50. I googled "leslie spaeth" and found only a handful of entries.
One Leslie Spaeth is listed in the WWI Honor Roll of Middletown, Ohio. Another entry is an article about a settled power struggle between Spaeth (who is also Warren County GOP Chairman) and Mason City Councilman, Tom Grossman. I can't find any connection to Merrie, but I did find out that Merrie was born in Philadelphia in 1948.

The meme throughout the segment was conspiracy theorists....."BAD, BAD, internet"...."e-mail spamming" "make us work hard and read"...but not one word on some of the problems. Not one. Tapper used to write for Salon, but he wants to run with the Big Boys so he sold his soul back during the 2000 election. Fucking Heathers. We don't need to get rid of the politicians. We need to get rid of the stupid ass pundits who think they have the moral authority to run the world.
