Missed you earlier. I was afraid it was going to be a slow night, with Keef away and an all-Schiavo show, but we sort of staged a rebellion here in the thread and went a little silly. It's been quite fun. I'd actually been intending to go 1000 next week on the anniversary, but we got into a silly-fest and one thing led to another...

You know, even with HIGH-SPEED, this page takes a long time to load. (It behaves differently from dial-up; instead of assembling itself a little at a time, it just hangs -- and then everything pops up at once.)

It's good to be here. I was hoping people would show up tonight. I wanted some silly time with the KOEB and for once, I was able to get away during the show time. Things have been so over-scheduled lately that that just hasn't been possible. Having the clubhouse helps, but it's just not the same as seeing a lot of you all at once.

(I'm doing really great. It was draining, almost cathartic - but sometimes you just need to go into the dark places.)

they call a "classic". Instead of straight up-and-down stripes, the "stripes" are kind of a whorly pattern. Beautiful kitties, all of 'em. Aren't fuzzies wonderful, especially when things are so stressful? They just know and they come and snuggle extra close and make it better.

My best friend had a silver mackerel who looks so much like your cat in the face, right down to the pink nose. He was the sweetest kitty ever -- top cat in her house, and at one point, she had 10 (long story). Battle was wonderful, the bestest kitty, and I still miss him. Now there's a kitty with 'tude, who knows that he owns the box!

It's faded with age, and he's a bit grayer.

Roo is so cool. He's a cat who thinks he's a dog. My fenine.

When Roo was acting up at the Vet's, the vet told me that was territorial behavior. He was defending me by yowling, scratching and biting. (yes, I was asked to leave the room!) Afterwards, he told me "it's very strange - we usually see this kind of behavior in dogs, but not cats."

Second all those people could care less about Terri or any the other hospice patients. All they care about is what they think is right and to hell with anyone that disagrees. 72. I've thought of that A LOT and it really bothers me
went through the hospice thing about six months ago, for a brief time, for an elderly aunt. It was a wonderful place and that dear good lady was at much at peace with her coming demise as anyone can be, but still it's a difficult time for everyone in the family. If those goons had been camped outside the hospice, I would have decked somebody, I just know I would have, and it's been years since I punched anyone. You just don't need any extra stress when you're in the process of losing a loved one, even when there isn't any family conflict over patient care.

87. We went through
it with my father-in-law though he was able to stay home with us and hospice came here to help. Poppy had a fit being in the hospital fir 2 days for test. They were the nicest most caring people you could ask for. You have to have something special with in you to be able to care for dying patients on a daily basis and still be upbeat. They also taught us a lot, like not to force food and drink on him even though that is a natural instinct on people. He didn't eat anything and would barely drink anything the last week of his life.

just let her be. She was content in herself and we didn't push, which is hard to do. It's incredibly hard, but it's the last gift of love you can give them.

95. Goldens are the best
My Sheridan loves kids...all of them. When I take him for a walk the kids that live in my apartment complex always ask to pet him or ask me questions about him.

He's the bestest dog friend I've ever had. :)

145. He's named for Captain John Sheridan
on the TV show Babylon 5. His AKC name is Claridge Sky Full of Stars. His daddy and grandfather are champion showdogs.

His grandfather "Striker" won Best in Breed at Westminster Dog Show in 1996 and went on to represent the Golden breed in the Sporting Group show ring.

I don't know the first thing about showing dogs so Sheridan is just my best friend. :)

And, we don't have that carpet anymore. I have never understood the love affair with berber carpeting. That was the hardest damn carpet to keep clean I've ever had.
My den is the only room with carpeting (and I still hate it - with kids and dogs, carpet is just a germ catcher, but I had no choice in the den). My other floors are hardwood or linoleum.

My folks love cockers. They had a black cocker named Sam for two years before I was born. Apparently he didn't care too much for me though as he ran away twice and they never found him.

I guess he was a tad jealous of me. :(

154. Slowly going
to hardwood or tile in every room in the house. Animals and carpets do not go together and then I learned that carpets are the major cause of dust. (and yes they are germ catchers) I learned the luxury of tiles floors in FL and how easy they are to keep clean and almost indestructible.

because they think it's pretty likely that they'll have to do breaking news coverage on this story over the weekend. Dan Abrams finished his show tonight by saying he'd see us on Monday "if not before". So I think KO just got a free day off in advance possibility of having to work on his Easter holiday weekend.
