The biggest problem with voting machines is......
the ability to "leagally" disenfranchise large numbers of voters by misallocating machines or simply putting out crappy hardware that you know will fail causing long lines so people will just say screw it.

Paper ballots are the only way to vote. There is no valid excuse in my mind for not having enough paper ballots and my guess is the voting time required for paper ballots is 1/4 less than DRE so the required number of voting booths would be lower or the same number of booths could process larger numbers of voters.

2. Each of the companies that manufacture the machines are Republicans.

Our vote has been privatized.

Most of Congress doesn't know what is going on with the guts of the hardware and software. Election officials don't know what is going with the guts of the system. Republicans were desperate to own the U.S. - they are not above theft and lies.

Republicans own the hardware and software.
Republicans only are in charge of the count and the reporting.
Republicnas are the technicians and 'fixers'.

Republican networks pay for exit polling. They own the data and they coordinate fixed numbers for their Republican political, corporate, military, reverend, illuminati, baron partners.

We citizens were and are being screwed and most of us still think everything is wonderful and that someone has been accountable for their most precious possession - their vote.

We lie to our children when we tell them that their vote counts. The Republicans have screwed us.

3. You're getting there.
Welcome to Election Reform, yourout.

As you say: "...the ability to "legally" disenfranchise large numbers of voters...", is the key. With a simple click, a program can be altered to misplace or even totally deny millions of votes.

Whether that click was an honest error, or was intentional, is of little consequence. What matters is that it CAN be done, has been PROVEN to have been done, and will continue to be done as long as the machines are used.

Right?
