jeff gannon is not the only one. i guess people generally use prostitute to describe men, but there sure enough are plenty of men making a living on their backs.

Could there be more of those floating around? I would like to start making a collection.

Some leading Republicans have a surefire answer. Induce Secretary of State Cox to forget her Democratic rescue mission and join the GOP. She has not quite rebuffed their advances.

Here is the deal they have proffered:

* Cox would switch to the Republican Party and immediately announce for lieutenant governor in 2006. She would run to succeed Democrat Mark Taylor, presently a wide-open candidate for governor against Perdue.

* In exchange for switching, Cox would be richly rewarded. Top-rung Republicans would discourage other GOP members from entering the lieutenant governor's fray.

We called Cox to see how thrilled she is at the invitation to switch parties and move up the electoral ladder.

On the phone, she didn't sound as jubilant as we expected. She confirmed that Republicans had offered the above-described arrangement. And, yes, she has a number of Republican friends who like the idea of her switching. She mentioned GOP state Chairman Alex Poitevint, who lives in Bainbridge, Cox's hometown. No, she would not confirm whether high-powered lobbyist Joe Tanner had acted as a go-between.

So, let's assume they're doing it for reason, like, say, money?

Would that money be on the books where they can get nailed for it?

Or, would they hide in deal ala CA Congressman Cunnighan's real estate deal?

Second, they are all lying thru their teeth. Third, it's a conflict of interest for election officials to be promoting a private corporation selling election equipment. I'm sure i could think of a lot more if I had more time.

I mean literally. I have seen Conny and Radke kissing in the corner at a conference. Don't worry about her hubby as his hand was in the lap of some other county official as well. Must be one of those "open" marriages. Too bad her elections are not as open.
