Pressure on Diebold and the Stolen 04 Election on Daily Kos
The number one diary on Daily Kos right now focuses on Diebold and the stolen 2004 election, with plenty of references to the Bradblog and other electoral justice websites. http://www.dailykos.com/story/2006/2/12/0714/82809

If you click that link, you are helping to keep the issue in the public eye.

With half a million or more visitors per day, we can safely assume that hundreds of thousands of visitors are looking at whichever diary is in the Recommended box, particularly if it is in the #1 spot.

Please go there and recommend the diary if you are logged in as a DKos member, or at least tell your friends to go there and do so. If you are not yet signed up for DKos, do it immediately, as you will be having a lot more moments like this in the coming months where your input is needed.

LESS THAN 9 MONTHS TO THE MIDTERMS, THE TIME IS NOW TO EXPOSE THE CORRUPTION IN OUR ELECTION SYSTEM! LET'S USE EVERY EFFORT AVAILABLE. (Have you noticed Air America is covering a lot of election stories? We must use our muscle to get the word out!)

1. I totally agree...
...the time is NOW to speak out against election fraud.

Speaking out after the election is a NO WIN. The evildoers can position us as "sore losers" and obstructionists.

We must rally, scream, kick, fight and shout from the rafters about this NOW!!!!

6. Someone with posting privileges, please add this
OK, this thread sent me over to dKos and finally I have become a member. But since I can't post comments for 24 hours, I would like to request that someone who can add the following...

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=203&topic_id=408124&mesg_id=408136

That is a post from DUer Steve A Play on 1/7/06. I reposted it at GuvWurld 1/14/06:

http://guvwurld.blogspot.com/2006/01/updates-on-palo-alto-diebold-and-much.html

It would be great to give those links exposure on dKos, but more important are the seven links listed in the post, each to a different class action suit against Diebold. These links would make a great contribution to the dKos thread and give all those readers that much more to work with as they plan ahead to calls, letters, etc. for tomorrow.

7. We need to get an onslaught of Diebold stories to the media:
Here is one:

U.S. Politics: Current Events

Ohio City to Re-Vote After Diebold Over-votes

Tuesday February 7, 2006

Ohio City to Re-Vote After Diebold Over-votes
One set of Ohio citizens will cast 2005 votes a second time on Tuesday, using paper ballots and an optical scan system. After electronic voting machines from Ohio-based Diebold recorded more votes than voters last fall, the city of Carlisle, Ohio contested the results. The Montgomery County Common Pleas Court ordered another referendum on a proposed levy for the Carlisle Fire Department and ordered Montgomery County to pay for the special election, which is taking place in neighboring Warren County as well as Montgomery County, which is still using Diebold equipment.
News reports at the time suggested poll worker error. Steve Harsman, director, Montgomery County Board of Elections , said, "

oll workers incorrectly encoded voter cards that are used to bring up the ballots on the electronic machines..." resulting in at least 225 votes "in precincts with only 148 registered voters."

8. Here is another:
Scott+Scott, LLC to File Lead Plaintiff Motion in Class Against Diebold This Monday
Saturday, February 11, 2006, Finanzen.net

Excerpt from the article:

COLCHESTER, Conn., Feb. 11 /PRNewswire/ — Scott+Scott, LLC (http://www.scott-scott.com/), which initiated on December 13, 2005 the first securities fraud class action against Diebold, Inc. ("Diebold" or the "Company") and certain of its officers and directors, will file a Motion for Lead Plaintiff and Lead Counsel this Monday, February 13, 2006.
According to the complaint, Diebold "remained unable to assure the quality and working order of its voting machine products."

"It is further alleged that the Company's false and misleading statements served to conceal the dimensions and scope of internal problems at the Company . . culminating in false representations of astonishingly low and incredibly inaccurate restructuring charges for the 2005 fiscal year . . ."

"The complaint also alleges over $2.7 million of insider trading proceeds obtained by individual defendants during the Class Period."

The action is pending in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio (No. 05CV2873). The Class is defined in the complaint drafted by Scott+Scott as those who purchased Diebold securities between October 22, 2003, and September 21, 2005, inclusive (the "Class Period").
