Kerry's Efforts for Katrina Survivors' Voting Rights (Cross-Post)

"WASHINGTON – Today, Senator John Kerry (D-Mass.) sent a letter to Attorney General Alberto Gonzales and John Tanner, Chief of the Voting Section at the Department of Justice, urging them to immediately reconsider approval of a voting plan that will disenfranchise tens of thousands of voters in the upcoming Louisiana elections."

1. This is the just and right thing to do. Voters in NO should not be
disenfranchised simply because they are displaced for the time being. What was =done to make it possible for the Iraqi's to vote in this country should also be made possible for the NO residents who can not go home to vote.
