Design "Winner" in Election T-Shirt Design Contest; Lotsa Prizes, BigTime
Edited on Thu Apr-06-06 02:48 PM by Land Shark
The ACTUAL design of the shirt differs from any specific submission, but we have to announce the winners according to the rules, or rig the game like elections. YOU be the judge, that's the point. If you think the process is corrupt, well, you're learning.

The Winner (or the actual shirt design, in red and blue on a white shirt):

http://www.guvwurld.org//Election%20Reform/Verified%20Ballots%20Plus%20Public%20Vote%20Counting%20Equals%20Democracy.pdf

http://tinyurl.com/egn9e (the design as a pdf)

Pretty soon when you go to my website address www.verifiabledemocracy.org it will say both the website and a verifiable democracy are "under construction". That's true, as to both.

FIRST PLACE: (closest to that actually used) JIM DANDY

SECOND PLACE OR LAST PLACE: Mabus, Skids, acmejack, Guvwurld, simonm, mopinko, bleever, stevepol, amaryllis, gregorian, hippywife, rateyes, BeFree, kster, Zan of Texas

You will need to PM me with a mailing address if you'd like to claim a prize. The large group wins a t-shirt or a golf-type shirt with verifiabledemocracy.com on the front right upper area in small letters A(where a company name on a breast pocket might be if there were a pocket), and the full design on the back. T-shirt design is on the front, or on the front and the back.

The golf shirts are designed to be worn 24/7. : ) I suppose everyone knows t-shirts can be...

By the way, if you like this message and want it on the back of a shirt, with your own group's name tastefully on the front of the shirt, it can be arranged. Though probably not for free.

On edit: All second place or last place winners can PM me for a shirt, if they'd like one.

1. WOW! Thank-you Land Shark!
I really don't deserve it, but I love the sentiment and the colored design, so I won't turn it down.

If you haven't checked the GuvWurld link above, here's the phrase:

Verified Ballots + Public Count = Democracy.

Without the public involved in both a transparent voting and counting process, we simply have no democracy.

I was going to say spread the shirts around to each submitter, but I see you're already doing that!

6. Hey, Jim Dandy
Congratulations! That really is the best one. And I'm not just saying that to get a tee-shirt.

We need a public count. We need the people in there getting their hands and eyes on the ballots just to make sure that what the machines say is the same thing the people said.

4. Thanks much, amaryllis and rumpel.
I really liked Zan's phrase too:

"I went to vote and all I got was this glitch"

because several images came to mind to put on a T-shirt that would fit the word 'glitch.'

Bush's mug, for example. How long do you think the MSM would keep using the word 'glitch' if the image that always accompanied it was Bush's mug?

5. Your future Bartlett's Quotations page is getting crowded.
A verifiable democracy is indeed "under construction."
