2. Did the kids have fun?
Might I suggest we hold off recommending this thread? We don't need two of the same threads on greatest. If we wait for the fifth rec, we can get the monday afternoon traffic to read it by putting it up on the greatest 24 hours from now.

I guess I am saying we might think about thread management from here on?

3. kids got a good swim in
btw, as expressly stated in the GD-P post, PRECINCT Count optical scan is not challenged DIRECTLY in the Stewart v Blackwell holding. However, that doesn't mean that there aren't other cases that will using the princple of Bush v Gore, and it doesn't mean that there aren't other dynamics or legal principles that come to bear outside of this particular case.

It's good to be very very concerned about these legal developments. It's always bad to be hysterical or despondent. Nobody wants that, of course.

4. I am optimistic
As the news breaks and the facts come out, certain leaders are bound to begin squirming.

Is this not the first major voting case to wind it's way through to this point, with others close on the heels?

7. thanks all, there's a bit of a wrap up post at #52 in the GP thread

think of HAVA compliance and Stewart V. Blackwell compliance (equal protection and Bush v Gore) as being separate animals but you gotta comply with both.
