What do you think of this idea as a symbol for election integrity?
At various times we've had threads brainstorming ideas for a symbol people could wear/display to signify our committment to election integrity. I've finally landed on one I like.

It's not a ribbon or an armband, but would be used the same way:
a finger pad
You know, those little finger condoms people wear when they have to leaf through piles of papers?

Their message is, "I'm ready and willing to serve my country by counting paper ballots. Bring 'em on!"
People could wear them on their fingers or (more likely) on a string around their necks. Maybe an orange string.

Months and month ago someone on this forum was clipping a (green? I don't remember) paper clip to their collar. When people asked them what it was for they'd talk to them about the theft of Prez2004. This would be designed to do the same thing. Finger pads really easy to buy and very cheap (and if we ever win the election integrity battle we can reuse them as we file all the papers that have piled up while we were busy fighting for democracy).

If you're not sure what finger pads are, here's a
photo of them. This is not an endorsement of the retailer.

For under $2 retail you could have one for yourself and 11 to give to friends.

So, whaddaya think?

1. I dunno
I rarely see them used. Maybe if they were purple?

2. I tend to agree, it's a bit obscure. Paper clips are much more prevalent.
Why green? Anybody know? I'm thinking we could do something with jumbo clips--the big size paper clip (same metal clip, just bigger). But the common ol' small paper clip is the most prevalent. At least where I work. Maybe the plastic colored paper clips are more common in other places. How about three plastic colored paper clips, strung together: one red, one white, one blue? But where to put them? And what is the symbolism (other than general patriotic)? Still thinking...

Meanwhile....

Bumper sticker: "Help Us Beat the Machines--VOTE!"

7. That's why I like my weirder idea
A paperclip can easily go unnoticed. I want people to ask about whatever it is.

But it doesn't look like anyone but me likes this idea.

8. The question was Do people 'ask'
It does get noticed. They do see it, they just don't ask.
I always wear all black on every Friday in mourning of all the people that have died since the neo-con criminals took over my country. Very few people say anything about that either.

6. When I think about it...
...Election reform brings to mind the three monkeys:

Hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil.

That's the monkeys on my back.
