Brad Says on Air America: 'Franken won't talk about this stuff!'
Discussing Electile Dysfunction, Ann Coulter, Al Franken and Air America on Air America's Marc Maron Show

Discussing Electile Dysfunction, Ann Coulter, Al Franken and Air America on Air America's Marc Maron Show

I was in studio today with Marc Maron of Air America. First time on his show. A good guy (who got screwed by Air America, btw, when they dumped him from their national morning show.)

I thought I'd take the opportunity, while on Air America's air, to beat up a li'l on Air America, and Al Franken specifically, for not touching any of this Election Reform stuff.

That, Ann Coulter, and a few other rants in a very fast paced 12-minute appearance which I think you'll enjoy...

1. Is Brad OK?
He seems to keep repeating himself.

2. Franken interviewed
one professor from MIT shortly after the '04 election. It was within days if not one day. The prof discounted the possibility of election fraud and Franken seems to have persued it no further.

It's such bull.

One of the last exchanges I ever had with Andy (RIP) was about Franken's naivity and our mutual frustrations regarding it.

Franken discounted Marc Crispin Miller's work as well.

Franken is not helping the cause at all and yeah if Brad is repeating himself it is with damned due cause. The problem has not been fixed.

Democracy is lost.

have a nice day.

3. Franken learned from Randi Rhodes
Edited on Fri May-12-06 12:21 PM by Kelvin Mace
He actually had Bev Harris on over a year ago, but after she burned Randi, he's steered clear of the activists, but has touched on the issue MANY times that there are concerns. He just doesn't pursue it as hard as some folks would like.

4. Franken had Walter Mebane on recently.
If you don't know who he is, see the DNC Ohio report or his website at Cornell.edu.

While Mebane is not a techie, he came out very strongly against DREs and for paper ballots. Of course that means optical scan, which can also be screwed with, but at least the paper ballots are available for recounts, etc.

This was the DNC's position in the Ohio report but it was watered down to aloow DREs with VVPATs.

6. exactly the problem
when you finally get someone to discuss/recognize the issue, they don't "get it" and they just talk about opscans or VVPATs. it's ridiculous, these guys spend hours researching all the other topics they discuss. Why do they treat this issue differently? the information is out there and easily accessible. all they have to do is go to Voters Unite, VoteTrustUSA, BradBlog, SolarBus, or many others.

Brad is 100% correct about Franken. Al has ignored this issue and it is a travesty.

7. Franken does the same thing Bill Maher does. They use
Diebold for punchlines and then keep ripping Democrats for "losing" elections.

It isn't a very coherent position.

13. Exactly, they used this technique
for years Cspan,(no one watches except us), Letterman, Jon Stewart, Colbert and Jay Leno everyone except us, is watching for entertainment (not for the truth)

"Cafferty" "KO" STRICTLY to make us feel that we are getting our break to get the truth ON TV. Its all a Game to them.

Until we hear "REAL TALK" about the election theft machines from our Government, Dem's and Repub's on real TV media, we should assume they are trying to cover up the vote stealing machines.

No more Punchlines!!

My 2 cents.

15. I hate that. Doug and I turn it inside out. The audience
thinks they're going to get the same thing but they get the inversion -- a la, "Who here feels guilty that Bush was re-elected?" (That gets a chuckle) "Well, you're off the hook. There's not a shred of evidence he was EVER elected." And then people laugh, first because they think it's the same joke, then because they're startled, then because they like the idea.

Sneaky, huh? :P

8. Wish Franken would wake up.
Sadly, he'd fit right in with Congressional Dems. They won't take this issue seriously either.

16. Frankin operates from pure self-interest - He's running for the Senate
and bought into avoiding the "sore loser" label.
