Poll question: How much MSM (Main Stream Media) news have you watched since 11/02/2004
Also, if you don't mind, please comment on how the election affected, or didn't affect, your viewership habits.

She gets scheduled, but because she WILL mention the fraud, they cancel her. Sure, it's probably not Keith cancelling, but he could insist.

And, after this election, or rather, after the lack of post-election attention to the obvious and enormous problems with the validity of the election, I will never watch it again. Ok, unless there's a really good high speed cop chase through my neighborhood... but I live in LA and we're freaks... ;-)

I didn't really watch much more before 11/02.

If I go to cnn.com or cbsnews.com or any of the others, does that count toward "watching MSM"?

I watch Free Speech TV and Link and BBC and C-SPAN and PBS. Other than that I read the papers and get news on-line.

I don't understand why people think running away from the MSM solves anything. I'm not afraid of being "brainwashed" by them.... and I think it's important to know what they're saying. And here are all these DUer's crying about how the vote fraud story isn't crossing over into the MSM. Well, maybe it will, so I better keep an eye on it for you so you'll know.

The reason I don't watch is that I can't take the stress of listening to the whores' lies and spin. I simply get too mad and upset, so I try to avoid subjecting myself to the noxious stimuli. Reading is ever so much better.

It's not that I don't think it's important, it is still too painful to hear the lies, like having been raped and everyone saying nothing happened. But I will investigate anything I hear about here. Plus it may be damaging to expose oneself to too much propaganda....maybe that's what I could use my foil hats for.

Is the last news channel i watched, because every time the night of the election that CNN called a state I would flip over to them to try and get confirmation. I happened to be watching those jackasses right after they called Ohio, and they went directly into discrediting the exit polls. That is what got me onto this website, and what got me spending hours everyday trying to find some type of smoking gun that cannot be ignored by the mainstream media.

29. The election GREATLY affected my viewing habits.
I immediately swore off of MSM - I used to be a newshound with Tivo season passes set for:

Meet the Press
Face the Nation
George Stephanopoulos
Aaron Brown
Keith Olbermann
Hardball
Lou Dobbs
Crossfire

I cancelled all of them (well, I had already cancelled Crossfire and Dobbs a month or so before the election). My news habit is now limited to:

- Amy Goodman/Democracy Now
- Jon Stewart/Daily Show
- and much much more DU and Internet news

I admit I do miss Olbermann and Aaron Brown a little. The rest can piss off, I'll never watch their whoring again!

I only listen to Air America, and get ALL of my news from DU and Google and the Internet. I can't stand listening to them, I scream at the TV. I see them as lying traitors abdicating their responsibility to us. They are there to ask the questions for us, to be the fourth estate. I now see them as hand in hand with the Bush adminstration. There is no difference any more to me.

They whore for the Bush adminstration and keep half of americans brainwashed. I've had ENOUGH! They make me sick! The two enemies we have to face in this country now are the Media and the Paperless trail voting machines.

Im not sure if I'll ever watch Tv News again...well at least not until they start reporting the truth and calling out the Adminstration on it's lies. They are just a propaganda machine, I read here every day what is REALLY going on in the world, what is actually important to the whole damn planet, serious issues from the melting artic cap to water shortages, oil etc.... and FUCKING Sott Peterson is what we get, and glossing over another stolen election like we are a bunch of idiots. Facts speak for themselves, and just becuase the media doesnt report the facts does mean the facts dont exist. Goddamn A-holes.. It's sad, I'm mad, and I'm not going to take it anymore!

At our house there's a new routine. The Daily Show is a must. We watch the previous night's repeat at 6:00 and then watch some of Olberman later. But we're still pretty much not watching the others.

We haven't been for some time. It's too depressing. If I hear "liberal media" comments it just about sends me off the deep end. All you have to do is watch any of the networks during their evening news and pay attention to the commercials to see where the real bias lies.

Been lurking here since 11/4. Here because of the election.

Have watched maybe 8 hrs, maybe less. Definitely 50% less than before election. Do my 1 hour commutes listening to NPR count (NO AAR available)?

While I respect all posting here's beliefs and agree with many of the comments on the media, I think a little more attention will help our cause. We have to see ourselves as the other side sees us. I am going to write another post tonight on this topic... not sure which thread applies most yet.

55. mainstream? MAINSTREAM? what do you mean by mainstream?
i may be a newbie but please forgive me if i strongly object to the term "mainstream media". what's mainstream about it? the fact that it is owned and represents the interests of some of the largest multinational corporation? is it mainstream to allow lie after lie to be told by the repugs without questioning those lies?

again, forgive me for my objection but my own personal campaign is to get everyone to call the media what it is - CORPORATE MEDIA.

i've watched and listened for the last 35 years as our enemy has branded the media as "liberal". sometimes "elite liberal media", but always the adjective "liberal" is attached to the word "media". as i recall, it started about the time of sprio agnew's "nattering nabobs of negativism" speech. (although that was still in the 60's and i had a real good time in the 60's so don't ask me for too many details from those years).

now it's become an accepted "fact" by a large part of our population that the corporate media is instead a "liberal media". we won't be able to combat that lie by calling it "mainstream".

anyway i may get annoying in my efforts, but whenever i read or hear "mainstream media" i will make the effort to correct the writer or speaker. unfortunately, i sometimes still hear the folks on airamerica refer to it as "mainstream media". my work is cut out for me.

Just wait until i start my new campaign to get everyone to start calling the christian fundamnetalists my new term "CHRISTIANISTS". don't let them be called evangelicals - it sounds too close to angelic - which they certainly are not.

CHRISTIANISTS (Definition) - those who profess to believe in Christ but don't believe in the ideas that Christ believed in.

59. C-Span, CNN, MSNBC "Hardblow--er--Ball"...
...ABC News NOW, C-Span2, and as much as I could because I needed to see how they would react to the blatant theft, Part 2 of the Presidential Elections.
Keith Olbermann is the ONLY one to take this serious.
Judy Woodruff patronized, and demonized "bloggers" (forgetting we were pretty credible not a month ago when breaking open the xeroxed memos Rather had--but then again this benefitted their Emporer Bush, didn't it?) and gave only a couple of minutes, it seemed, on the subject, and some talking heads mention the fiasco briefly, but only on C-Span 1 by third party candidates, is this huge scandal being taken seriously.
And that's sad, since this is about "the Greatest Democracy in the World" that's more corrupt than any Banana Republics!
America is no longer a country of We the People, but of We the Rich and Powerful Corporations.
And corporate-owned, rightwing media has proven it time, and again, but never as clearly as now.
Sad...Sad...Sad...

60. I watch only "Countdown" with Keith Olbermann
would that be 9 hours or 1 hour (hours total/hrs per day)? Does the "Daily Show" count?

66. Tell your friends and neighbors: IGNORE the mainstream media...
I think it's high time to get a serous national movement started (yep, right here and now on this forum, what a powerful thing it is, and this only my second post....)

Here's the bumper sticker: "Ignore the corporate media"

It's not just that the corporate press is doing a bad job here and there, but rather they've become a cancer on our democracy. They are the leading dis-informers out there. It's nothing but Bread and Circuses. They're a sinister prescense in our lives. They peddle poisons all day long. Enough.

Now, it's clear that the people around here have long ago given up on the MSM. But it's not good enough if your neighbors, the guy next to you on line, the people who teach your kids - it's no good if they're turned into zombies by the networks. Why, who knows what such people are capable of? Whom might they VOTE INTO OFFICE....?(well, fraud aside.)

So...Tell your friends! Ignore the whole lot - CNN, NBC, Disney, People Magazine, the NY Times, the whole shebang. (Well, I too like that Olbermann guy these days, so I guess there's an exception or two.)

If enough people turn their backs, why, maybe they'll just go away.

Thanks for listening, sorry to ramble, and it's good to be a part of this community.

67. watched a little PBS
when the evidence of widespread election problems and possible fraud started coming in, I thought maybe PBS would cover it...I've contributed to their coffers in the past but have become pretty disillusioned with their news coverage.

Used to have C-Span on, even for white noise....can't watch any more blah, blah, blah, too nauseating. The day one stands up to says the US is in Iraq protecting those seizing the oil, the US is putting her soldiers in the worst possible conditions, the US is stealing taxes and social security in the Trillions, and follows with WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO ABOUT IT? Maybe I will listen again.

As a liberal from MA who grew up respecting the framers of the constitution as well as the very few in congress today who uphold it. I greatly fear we are at the threshold of a revolution. I wish I were wrong. This will be a very sad chapter in our history, if we survive to write it. God help us.

Here is one very powerful idea.
