2 progresive wins City Council seats in Runoff in Trenton & Newark NJ
Edited on Wed Jun-14-06 10:14 PM by FogerRox
I drove south 2 hours, to crunch some Voter lists the other week, for a fellow Camp Wellstone grad, working in the Tom Coston Campaign for Trenton City Council. Just got word Coston won... - we won 753 to 358. A rout!

I am not helpless, I fightback. It feels good... ahhhhhhhhhhh......

Also DFA DEM Ron Rice Jr. won a runoff for Newark City Council, west ward. Cory Booker got a sweep, Congrats.....

2. I smell future endorsements for the "No Confidence Resolution"!
I celebrate with you Roger! While NJ's voting systems really suck, NJ people are stand up! The NJ wins speak of a quiet (MSM quiet) revolution taking shape at the local level. Just as the RNC takeover began one school board member at a time (circa: 1971), the battle to regain our Democracy will start and end at the local level. The present day RNC should have much to fear from such results, and we citizen warriors can take our strength from these "small" victories. For, by "small" victories, we will prevail in regaining Democracy.

3. Thanks Kip, There are 100's of these little stories, each one a victory
when are we going break out the 51 cap march again. I feel like another 500 thousand person march in DC. The state caps were nice in Dec '04. But Im for sumtin bigger ...

WE have 3 DFA DEMs running against Incumbant House Repubs in NJ, ALl NJ repubs have a challenger, 2 NJ Dems are running unopposed. From Town Council to Congress, fightin back.
