Conyers, MCM, Tokaji + R-Attorney Bill Todd on NPR's Open Source: OH Theft
Thanks to DUer-Cal04 for posting this on another thread, do not miss this excellent discussion on the Ohio Theft:

http://stream.publicbroadcasting.net/ros/open_source_060620.mp3

This hour long radio show does an excellent job in discussing what occurred in Ohio from 4 vantage points:

1. Rep John Conyers "It was a deliberate strategy to suppress the vote"

2. Prof (Election Law) Dan Tokaji -agrees there was suppresssion but more concerned with more noxious, agregious bills, such as one put forward Thursday by Henry Hyde that will suppress more peole of color, elderly and immigrants.

3. Mark Crispin Miller (Professor and author of "Fooled Again") "We are excessively cautious from calling a spade a spade-The evidence is overwhelming and not just in Ohio.

4. Bill Todd (Council to Ohio Republican Party) 2004 highest vote totals show no supression. It was activity by independent groups registering people who didn't live in state, dead people and inappropriate registrations. Blackwell did an "excellent job in a system that worked"

This is really worth your time to listen to this entire problem!

I was furious with NPR on the night of '04 election for their miserable, unprofessional coverage. I haven't listened to the station for more than 9 hours since. (House guests wanted it on. Damn annoying freeloaders.) :-)

This is nice of NPR, but they really could go double-time on the fraud issue and perhaps win back some of the support they've lost.

2. This is a *very* good discussion folks --
It was great to hear from all of the different perspectives when they were all in the same room. It has been stultifying to be stuck with debates between groups that believe we are in serious trouble, but view the trouble from different perspectives. It is far more satisfying to hear from the cast of characters in this program.

On the left, left: Mark Crispin Miller
On the left: Congressman John Conyers
Center: Dan Tokaji (who took a BIG old bite out of Henry Hyde's hide)
Right: Todd - the GOP lawyer who defends Blackwell

Remember friends:
1. First they ignore you.
2. Then they ridicule you.
3. Then they fight you.
4. Then you win.

I believe we've just about arrived at Stage 3: FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT!
