One way full control of all tabulating computers would be simple

The AP had access to all states' tabulating computers in order to get the updates. This is well known. Therefore, anyone in or connected to the AP's system had the ability to have full controll over every state's voting totals via at least manual editing of files. This doesn't require a hacker, just someone who knew the systems' vulnerabilities. All they would have to do is upload a script to the tabulating computers and bingo. Fix any errors manually and you have your fixed election. Simple really, but still just a hypothesis.

I remember a story called "AP can rig election" or something like that weeks before the election. I remember dismissing it because I thought, why would the AP do something like that and that the security would be tight.

Well, we know security was poor at best and just because the AP in general had nothing to do with it, doesn't mean that one of their employees didn't. Even if someone hacked into the AP's system, they would then not even need to hack into the tabulators... man this whole system was screwed up...
