Mahoning County Computers Tabulate Vote at Negative 25 Million

"...The Mahoning County Board of Elections will begin an investigation immediately to find out the sources of the problems, said Mark Munroe, the agency's chairman.

Problems in 16 of the county's 312 precincts caused the results in Mahoning to be held up for about three hours as election employees checked the machines' tallies at the election board....

That led to some races showing votes of negative 25 million, Munroe said....

Also, there were 20 to 30 machines that needed to be recalibrated during the voting process because some votes for a candidate were being counted for that candidate's opponent, Munroe said..."

1. 25 million negative votes?
LOL. And they keep telling us those "glitches" were to small to influence the election.:nuke:

2. So what happens when the numbers are within limits?
Edited on Fri Nov-12-04 09:25 AM by DoYouEverWonder
It seems the only time anyone notices a problem is when it is so glaring that it can't be ignored?

"We've never seen anything like this before," he said.

Of the 16 precincts, 11 were in Youngstown, two in Boardman, one in Jackson Township, one in Craig Beach, and one in Washingtonville.

Some of the machines malfunctioned, others had problems with the personal electronic ballot cartridge placed into the machines before each vote to count the ballots, and other problems were caused by human error, Munroe said.

The human error specifically was precinct officials getting nervous or overwhelmed by the number of people voting, and then failing to properly follow protocol to count the ballots in the machine, he said.

That led to some races showing votes of negative 25 million, Munroe said.

"The numbers were nonsensical so we knew there were problems," he said.

6. Sooooo, tell me.....
were they able to re-create the actual vote count? Or did the just re-set and start at zero. Can they honestly say the end result is and actual true picture of how people cast their ballot? I think not.

7. You Raise The Other Problem. Everyone is Claiming things were "fixed"
"Fixed" is the right word alright.

How do we know the proper corrective actions were taken? We don't. That's another reason why recounts are indicated.

11. FL doesn't surprise, no. OH is the new FL. What about NC, though?
I know about the re-vote needed (local or state-wide to be decided), but is there something else? Has this gone on longer than I'm aware of? It wouldn't shock me, unfortunately. I'm only a bit puzzled as to why we don't hear more about Georgia considering the 'interesting' 2002 Senate race there.

12. I'll get you the link; just read it; NC absentee voters made up a huge
pool of approximately 30% this election. The absentee votes are very similar to the exit poll data, and because the numbers are so large, it casts huge doubts about the final tallied votes. A senate race is affected, as well as Pres. election. I'll get the link.

13. NC had a huge number of absentee ballots this year, comprising

almost a third of the total votes cast. The absentee results favor the exit poll analysis but not the final votes tallied. A senate race is affected as well. If the same holds true for other states with high absentee ballot numbers showing significant discrepancies, it is highly suspicious for fraud.

14. Thanks for this
I don't know how the NC absentee ballot issue got past me. I thought I was keeping up with all of this, too. Ah, well. ;)

The link is broken, but I can run a search on it now that I know what to look for. Thanks! :hi:
