Vote machine error brings recount in Franklin County

The error caused votes for a straight Democratic ticket in Franklin County -- selecting all Democratic candidates -- to credit Libertarian candidates instead.

The mistake was in the programming of optical-scan voting machines sold by Fidlar Election Co., Rock Island, Ill. John Kruszynski, the company's director of elections, said only Franklin County was affected.

"It was just one configuration setting," he said.

1. It's way to easy to steal an election using electronic voting equipment

i think we need to go back to the tried and true mechanical voting machines. you can't "accidently" program those to steal an election without it being noticed.

In other words, he knew what he was looking at, and something seemed peculiar. But to you or me, we won't notice anything...

Tools> options> settings:
1. Add votes to vote total of candidate voted for
2. Convert straight Democratic tickets to Libertarian votes
3. Self-destruct

6. Yes there is something here!

From the information I've seen we have 3 important recount/correction events that have "mysteriously" screwed the democratic candidate...

1) The county in Ohio that gave Bush approx. 4,000 extra votes.

2) The state senate recount going on in NY. The democratic candidate has gained 1,400 votes and counting.

3) The Indiana "glitch" that gave democratic votes to the third party candidate.

These are what we need. Evidence! What other local or state recounts are going on around the country? What else have I missed? Hand recounts of the optical scan machines will be the only way things will keep pushing forward. This must be our focus.
