CONSPIRACY THEORY???? Shove this in their faces
Edited on Fri Nov-12-04 11:41 AM by Carl Brennan
Shove this in the mainstream Press's face, they need to be e-mailed that a NY State Senate race was may be overturned.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=203x36777

Brief summary... Senate race. Dem - Stewart-Cousins. Rep - Spano. Spano won the election. A recount is being done and as there were more Dem votes in the machines then were recorded during the election, the Dem is now winning in the recount. We may get a Senate seat to flip to a Dem.

<snip>

"The two sides have traded allegations about irregularities in the voting, with Republicans claiming voters were imported from New York City and Democrats claiming voters were harassed and voting machines were tampered with. All machines and records were impounded by judges.

The county Board of Elections disclosed Friday that seals on 22 machines were damaged or missing.

As the recount progressed on Monday, election workers, closely watched by representatives of the campaigns, compared vote totals recorded on machines with the tallies reported by poll workers on Election Night.

Jonathan Rosen, director of the state Democrats' campaign committee, said Berger told him that nearly every machine had a higher count for Stewart-Cousins than was recorded. However, Spano also gained votes, including 80 from one machine, Rosen said."

4. This is what should be DONE EVERYWHERE
All machines and records were impounded by judges.

BECAUSE:

The county Board of Elections disclosed Friday that seals on 22 machines were damaged or missing.

CLEAR EVIDENCE OF TAMPERING

5. As Randi said
all those voting machines should have been impounded. So why were the seals damaged or missing?? You can't tell me that wasn't a deliberate attempt to cover up their tracks.

Next time someone makes fun of a "conspiracy theorist," set them straight. There are all kind of sleazy goings-on in the background. The second someone who's seeking THE TRUTH speaks up, he's branded as some nut.

Call it what you will-- it's obvious that there are all kinds of illicit things going on.

6. And isn't it funny the way these
"irregularities" ALWAYS favor the pukes. When is someone in the corporate media going to point that out?:-(

7. Great work Carl, Thanks..
We need this kind of concrete evidence to thwart the "conspiracy theorists" label we've all been given in the last week or so.

(BTW - Didn't you used to post on Table Talk after the 2000 election?? Thought I recognized your user I.D.)

12. Could someone explain to me the significance of these seals if
Diebold et al have proprietorship rights? And WTF are they for? Also, how is the recount? Similar senate race screwups in NC and in IN. We might end up with more Dems in Congress after all is said and done.

15. Oh boy, another race overturned from "glitch"
A recount prompted by a computer glitch in Franklin County's voting machines has given a Democrat enough votes to bump a Republican from victory in a county commissioner's race.

These short, concise stories are a great way of debunking the debunkers fast.

16. These machines may be lever (mechanical) and not electronic
Edited on Sat Nov-13-04 01:11 PM by GregD
Could someone who knows the New York geography, and this specific senate district, please look at this closer?

Most voting machines in NY are mechanical lever machines.

From John Gideon at Voters Unite:
There are only three localities in two different counties that use other than lever machines. Those three places use Sequoia Advantage DREs. The three localities are Malone in Franklin County and Clifton Park and Saratoga Springs in Saratoga County. The lever machines is why they are not happy with HAVA or any of the legislation to require a voter verified paper ballot. Lever machines don't have a paper trail. I would have to do some research to find out if the Senate District is in any of the DRE areas but I don't think it is.

On edit: I referred to the machines as lever (manual) when I meant (mechanical)
