Get your hands on a Diebold machine in Maryland

The only way to get up close and personal with
Diebold Touch Screen machines in Maryland

People hired off the street by temporary agencies will
have the right do what regular voters may not - be live first hand
witnesses of the election system in action

I hope some folks in Maryland will apply for this work and document what
happens. It could break open a gigantic can of worms, and hopefully
embarrass Linda Lamone:

You will not have a better chance than this to document-
- the amazingly lax way these machines are handled,
- what really goes on during the training sessions
- what technicians are trained to tell election officials
- what problems really occur (since you will be answering trouble calls)
- how problems are addressed (or not)

You will probably have the opportunity to photograph materials and equipment
(camera phone?) and may even have easy access to memory cards.

Maryland elections will be serviced by Rovers supplied by a temporary agency.

While Maryland counties may be paying premium prices for these workers -
(sometimes $1,000 a day per "rover") the "rovers themselves will be paid $400.00 per day.

No mention about having a high school degree or passing a criminal background or even a credit check.

There is something other than Path to 9-11, and we best remember all the pieces of democracy that need tending in these tenuous times. Wish I lived in Maryland!

Edited to add that I hope you don't mind, but I cross-posted a link to this in the Maryland Forum. :hi:
