Has the GOP made any comments about what's been going on?
The reports from the media have obviously taken off, while most of them are following the same beat, never the less the press is talking.

However, has anyone seen any comments made by any GOP reps? They obviously are seeing the reports, but I haven't seen any responses. Does this mean(or show) anything?

1. They're sending the talking points to the media
and the media is saying what the GOP wants.

2. That's a very good question...
I have not heard anything regarding a Republican response. Actually, the less we hear the better, probably. My feeling is that the longer we can stay under the radar the better.

However, I would love to hear anyone's ideas about this, especially those who may have heard any Rethug response.

THanks for the quetion sabra... good one!

3. Blackwell has
I listen to Christian talk radio, cuz I'm a Christian and I like it, but today at lunch I heard an almost PSA sounding statement from Blackwell (Ohio SOS)how democracy had won this election and how wonderful it was the voters decided and not the courts. I just thought it seemed a little strange that he would buy radio (Christian radio) time to make that statement.

4. Ann Coulter and Rush Limbaugh....
have apparently talked about it. I saw an article from Ann Coulter on the web ripping Keith Olbermann for giving this steam. I heard on AAR from someone that Limbaugh was talking about it.

I also think I read somewhere else here or another forum that Rove was apparently expending energy to strategize for it. Not sure if its true or not. Now if this all turns out to be nothing, we just need to whip the media into a frothing frenzy for the next four years to keep Bush and Friends busy dealing with us!

7. There has been some suggestion....
Edited on Fri Nov-12-04 05:41 PM by jhgatiss
here and elsewhere that Kerry's concession was a "Have your cake and eat it too." kind of move. He doesn't suffer any backlash of perception by being perceived as a sore loser, but he can still quietly dispatch the lawyers to Ohio to monitor the provisional ballot counting. And in fact, they may have even counted on people getting rallied up to demand a recount so it would make the Republicans look bad if they tried to stop the "people's" recount. All speculation of course...

In all honesty though, I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much for this to pan out. I really hope the recounts do happen and we do find some major anomalies that throw the election into question, but I'm not counting on it. I would bet that if the Greens and Libertarians file for a recount in Ohio the Republicans will roll them over in court to stop it. Of course, that's a Republican PR nightmare. However, I have a feeling if that were to happen, there would be honest-to-God citizens in the streets protesting rather than Republican staffers like in Florida in 2000.
