1. ESI needs to come out and explain to Dan Tokaji and the rest
of the anti-VVPAT crowd that the problems in Cuyahoga were NOT limited to paper! The issue of redundant memories not matching each other and DRE totals not matching GEMS totals should be front and center in this debate, but instead they are kept in the closet and you know it Steven^3.

So get out there and 'splain it, will ya?

2. And try to do a better job than you did on those Ohio exit polls!
Edited on Sun Oct-29-06 01:31 AM by Bill Bored
While Fritz Scheuren had a credible theory, your presentation of it left much to be desired. Sloppy work like that isn't going to convince anybody!

And you were wrong about the definition of "RANDOM" in the 2004 Ohio recount too, which the courts have ruled was conducted illegally.

If you want to put all this behind you and try to work for some semblance of election integrity, now is the time. Otherwise, if I were you, I'd start looking for another gig. You've got Diebold on your ass now and if you want to get them off, you had better come up with the goods.

And STOP SIGNING THOSE NDAs! If you can't get work without keeping it a secret you're in the wrong business.

Thanks for the post.

3. Bill...
Not sure what you are referring to here...

"And you were wrong about the definition of "RANDOM" in the 2004 Ohio recount too, which the courts have ruled was conducted illegally."

But did you know that ESI, in conjunction with the American Statistical Assoc, offered (to ALL 88 Ohio counties) to conduct a "RANDOM" selection of precincts for recount prior to the Ohio recount. Of course, we were turned down in all cases even though we offered to do the word at no cost to the counties.

And, with regard to this comment; "If you want to put all this behind you and try to work for some semblance of election integrity"........

What exactly in the Cuyahoga report did you find lacking integrity?

5. I have defended the Cuyahoga report here.
But it has been spun in a few unfortunate directions. I heard that today's appearence on NPR went well and I'll listen as soon as I can.

7. Yes, it did go well...
unless you were Mark Radke. He was exposed as a total ass and liar. Hmmm, imagine that. Who knew?

Good job, steven^3.

6. he said "election integrity"
If Bill had meant to criticize the integrity of the report itself, he wouldn't have used that phrase. I'm sure he has some criticisms, but I wouldn't want you fretting over something he never said. Bill's a mensch. He occasionally throws a pot or two, but never an elbow.
