5. not to throw cold water on your interesting idea
--but foreign spouses, who are awarded "legal resident alien" status, can't vote. only citizens can vote. achieving U.S. citizenship is a lengthy process (I think) that entails renouncing the citizenship of your former country.

also, because of so-called Homeland Security and the current very mean and niggardly anti-immigration sentiment in the U.S., even spouses with families are being deported--permanently--for minor offenses. My daughter just recently told me a horror story about her friend's Nigerian husband who has been deported for what amounts to nothing. He has been torn from their son and there appears to be just about nothing that anybody can do.

best advice I'd give: don't come here, we'll go there :)

6. Damn! Well it was worth a shot. NEW IDEA:
I'm a liberal in GA...my vote does not count...I'll happily move to whatever state is projected to be swing in 2008. The blue states have a gigantic population - seed the nation!!

9. I advocate many Yankees moving to FL...it's not regarded as
the south by us southerners so it's not as 'bad' as one might think.
