"We're Counting the Votes" videos

"We're Counting the Votes" videos

These videos are being made available to promote the use of hand counted paper ballot election systems nationwide. The videos show the easy, transparent, observable, secure, and fair nature of this method of vote counting when done within the community by members of the community and administered by good and honest election officials.

What you see in these videos is the civic and community component that is present in proper election administration, as well as the methodology. Our hope is that people will begin to remember the heart that is the grassroots, community-centered American election.

Watch the videos (requires Windows Media Player)

Lyndeborough (~18 min.)
State Recount (~10 min.)
Wilton (~10 min.)

2. IMO, this is the way to get people to even talk...
on the surface seems many (esp those working elections) have fear (ala - it would take too long, there is no way this would be workable, etc.) reject the idea of paper ballots as unrealistic. Indeed I admit that I am *not* a purist because of the widespread 'dismissal' of how difficult this would be (to convince and win battles to go paper). However - demonstrations of where this is the norm, how it works - that is the way to open more minds (mine included) to the discussion. Thanks for posting these links/videos.

4. Hopefully, I am just expressing
what others are thinking. I have been skeptical of the push for paper - mostly due to the 'reality' factor and the fact that many election officials are quickly dismissive. One has to have alternatives rather than let all 'fair election issues' be dismissed if the eggs are all in the 'only paper ballots' basket. However, that in no way dismisses the belief that paper ballots are desirable. What one needs is *tools* to move the discussion.

I may be more comfortable with interim compromises on the road to fully transparent elections, than others - but the more tools available to perhaps move the 'compromise' further or fully toward paper ballots the better.

I am probably about to be back on almost no time to comment in the near future (killer work loads) - but please know that while I am pragmatic in nature (thus my resistance to some suggestions as "the solution" - when it doesn't seem sellable in the short term to local officials and thus realistic in changes) - that I am very open to tools that can push the discussion locally further.

Thanks for your comp - though I don't consider myself to be a "class act" - too hard to live up to ;-)

5. "interim compromises" only lets the Crooks stay in charge
of the vote counting, We can't have that, What the Crooks need to know, is that their Secret Vote Counting Game is OVER (PERIOD)

What will I tell my kids?

I have to agree to let the Crooks stay in charge of the Vote Counting for now, Because there is nothing I can do about, I have to compromise with the CROOKS, because I have no choice? COME ON.

Give Me A Break. THE CROOKS ARE DONE (PERIOD)

SAY WHAT YOU MEAN, MEAN WHAT YOU SAY. Have a nice day :)
