Just got back from the Voter Protection Boiler Room in Franklin Co OH...
Edited on Tue Nov-04-08 08:28 PM by mod mom
and the mood was upbeat. We cracked open a bottle of champagne to toast the closing of the polls at 7:30pm.

That said...the boiler room in 2004 was still saying Kerry won Ohio in 2004 at 11:30 pm.

It was a heck of a long day...leaving the house at 5:30am.

It was an amazingly organized effort with state of the art monitoring tools and top notch preparation!

:hi:

Cam Kerry was there overseeing the efforts.

2. We all brought you Ohio in 2004 just had a party afraid to stand up to the cabal!
A new dawn! Now let's get rid of the fucking machines and move this country forward! :hi:

3. Indeed
You say the party was afraid and I thnk a lot of people who were afraid became encouraged by people like you who they saw standing up to the cabal.

We don't yet know what damage the machines did this time, but we know the capabilities, while great, were limited by an informed and educated citizenry. People like you.

6. There were dark days.
I remember October 17, 2006-the day the Military Commission's Act was signed and many of us who stood up to the thugs and attempted to expose them thought oh shit we might just disappear. It sounds over dramatic now, but it was a really dark time, and many of us talked about how we might be considered a threat to their power. I was afraid of what might happen to my young children, but I also thought what would I tell my kids if I just sat back and didn't fight for what had happened. I'm sure I'm not alone in feeling a great sense of relief. DU is a bastion of like minded souls who dreamed of a better world. We helped make it happen. :hi:

8. Yes we did.
Almost forgot about that MCA. It seemed to be getting darker and darker, but DUers stood up to the cabal. We showed that Americans would not be pushed around by an act of congress. They noticed us. And they heard us today as we said with one loud collective voice railing against the injustices declaring: ENOUGH! We demand change!

7. Emlev!
We Ohioans owe folks like you a great deal for all your efforts w RHP and the movement in whole. I started out the day between an atty from DC and an atty from SF (who btw was a green party member) who had travelled to help out in Ohio. So many people chipped in to fight this tyranny. Now we have to make sure it isn't swept under the rug like it was under Clinton but exposed and brought to the justice it deserves.

5. Four years ago
What a gawd awful time that was. Tonight it feels as if a heavy weight has been lifted. We can focus now, not on the past, but the future. Back then the future looked bleak, today the future shines.

We have overcome!
