Conservatives rail against MSNBC's Olbermann for reporting election irregularities
http://mediamatters.org/items/200411160006
<snip>---
Media conservatives have labeled MSNBC anchor Keith Olbermann a "voice of paranoia" and accused him of perpetuating "idiotic conspiracy theories" for his sustained spotlight on the numerous local news reports of voting irregularities during the November 2 presidential election. Olbermann's emphasis during Countdown with Keith Olbermann on voting irregularities has been part of a critique of what he has called the "Rube Goldberg voting process of ours" -- as well as a criticism of the major media outlets' failure to report on the irregularities.

If Kerry were out there, or his lawyers claiming "fraud" before the case was built the ratwangers would be screaming at the top of their lungs

As it is, they are just barely bellowing

with any luck it will hit them broadside before they know what hit them!!!

Edited on Tue Nov-16-04 08:15 PM by txindy
we'll see whether unverifiability stands up under scrutiny. Or if B*sh even stays in office long enough after that report is printed worldwide. One thing's for certain, he will sell out Rove to save himself. In a heartbeat.

58. Oh yeah, B* would sell out ANYONE, if it comes to that
The man has the morals of a maggot, except that the maggot is more honest.

I read somewhere once that it's a Bad Idea to piss off the CIA. Sounds sensible to me. I can't see Goss being able to comprehend, let alone stop, true professional agents who want to reveal some damaging Bush dirt.

For anyone reading this who hasn't read the article, here's the part that we're talking about:

....The CIA has very few really competent agents these days and most of them are going to resign, either singly or en masse. What is really worse is that many of them have made off with the most secret of reports proving that the CIA warned the Bush ninnies in plenty of time about the Iraq situation but Bush/Rove chose to ignore them. I have seen some of these papers and if the disaffected agents make good on their intentions of sending them off to the media, both domestic and foreign, Bush will be lynched by an enraged public and they will find some kind of a hoist to haul the bloated and thrashing body of Karl Rove up right beside him.

Even taking this speculation as fact, my chief doubts here are
(a) whether the media that dish the Kool-Aid to keep the natives pacified will ever tell the truth about what is divulged by the hypothetical leaking ex-CIA agents, (No sign yet of a lower limit to the moral bankruptcy of the Major Media)
(b) whether the divulged dirt can be made to stick to B*sh rather than to disposable administration hacks, probably ex-administration hacks at that given the current exodus, (This has worked for him every time he's ever been in trouble),
and (c) whether the Kool-Aid drinking natives will give a damn anyway. (They like their truth, shall we say, "through a glass darkly" and in 15-second staged TV takes.)

But we can hope...

35. Thanks for the interesting article, LawStudentMom.
Also frightened, besides George, who would probably fill up his pants if someone let off a firecracker near him, are the Jesus Freaks who have convinced themselves that they alone put him back in office and tremble with fear lest he be sent to Jesus without dissing Roe v. Wade, establishing creationism in all public schools, imprisoning all gays, removing all gun control laws, shutting down the Democratic Party as a hotbed of homosexual, Satanistic secular humanism and other Nazi-like insanities.

If they're so certain the "end" is near, why should they bother changing everything to their liking? Are they trying to earn merit badges?

This is insane.

48. That would be the Holy Hand-Grenade of Antioch
from the "Book of Armaments"

LAUNCELOT: We have the Holy Hand Grenade.

ARTHUR: Yes, of course! The Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch! 'Tis one of the sacred relics Brother Maynard carries with him! Brother Maynard! Bring up the Holy Hand Grenade!

MONKS: Pie Iesu domine, dona eis requiem. Pie Iesu domine, dona eis requiem. Pie Iesu domine, dona eis requiem. Pie Iesu domine, dona eis requiem.

ARTHUR: How does it, um-- how does it work?

LAUNCELOT: I know not, my liege.

ARTHUR: Consult the Book of Armaments!

BROTHER MAYNARD: Armaments, Chapter Two, verses Nine to Twenty-one.

SECOND BROTHER: And Saint Attila raised the hand grenade up on high, saying,'O Lord, bless this thy hand grenade that with it thou mayest blow thine enemies to tiny bits, in thy mercy.' And the Lord did grin, and the people did feast upon the lambs and sloths and carp and anchovies and orangutans and breakfast cereals and fruit bats and large chu--

MAYNARD: Skip a bit, Brother.

SECOND BROTHER: And the Lord spake, saying, 'First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then, shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shalt be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, nor either count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it.'

MAYNARD: Amen.

KNIGHTS: Amen.

ARTHUR: Right! One... two... five!

GALAHAD: Three, sir!

ARTHUR: Three!

26. he returns emails, that is for sure
I e-mailed this guy and took up for Olberman when he first started blasting him... he said something along the lines of this

(quoting the last email he sent me)

"Voting is a mess, always has been a mess, and both parties do what they can to cheat, steal and defraud to win. I don’t think republicans alone are against paper trails.

By being so sloppy and so irresponsible, and by throwing out easily explainable or debunkable examples of odd vote totals by the dopp woman without having the most basic knowledge of the voting patterns of socially conservative registered democrats in florida (and west va., and ohio), k.o. discredited his own case for the existence of vote fraud. Maybe there was vote fraud or voter suppression or whatever. I don’t doubt there was in some places like philly and chicago. Maybe bush stole the election (again?).

By the way: I’m not a conservative or a republican. I’m a libertarian who recently wrote that America would have been better off if gore had won in 2000. what I wrote about olbermann has to do with his jayvee journalism, not who won the election."

Anyhow, it doesn't sound to me like he has a conservative bias, just he is a real big skeptic who for some reason, doesn't appreciate Keith too much...

It just dawned on me what this guy just told you. The candidate who cheats the best wins. And this method is OK by him, as long as both sides are cheating? 21. I apologize to all conservatives for us wanting ALL votes to be counted
How silly of us to want an election system that is fair and correct.

If it would be the other way around (e.g. Bush lost with a narrow margin) they would blindly accept the results without wanting a count of provisional ballots and absentee ballots. And they would, of course, assume that "malfunctions" in several electronic voting machines did not favor either candidate. Yeah, right, hypocritical freeper assholes.

29. These are the same "people"
who will go into a drooling FRENZY over the "mysterious death of Vincent Foster and many others".

I've collected a good number of links on "voter irregularities" (mostly from DU). This DISGRACE won't change anything; the Corontion will go on as planned. But NEVER forget or give in. As Watergate, Pentagon Papers, My Lai, and Iran-Contragate have show, it doesn't take a broad consensus to "out" this shit; all it takes are a few honest people with COURAGE.

What those Rovian creeps have done to the American Ballot, is the same that was done to the US Supreme Court 4 years earlier. Here's what a dissenting Justice said of that: "Although we may never know with complete certainty the identity of the winner of this year's presidential election, the identity of the loser is perfectly clear. It is the nation's confidence in the judge as an impartial guardian of the rule of law."
— Justice John Paul Stevens (regarding the 2000 presidential election)

49. yeah but look at who they quoted
Let's see:

1. Ann Coulter - a vile, radical ultra-right winger who can't keep her facts straight and can't speak without swiveling her head full-around like Linda Blair in the Exorcist. Keith has handled her on many occasions.

2. A Scaife outfit. Again, no surprise. A right wing rag desperate for readers this isn't fit to use in my cat's litter box. Again, Keith has handled them many times as well.

and least, but certainly not least:

3. The MRC - a watchdog group dedicated to uncovering the "liberal bias" in the media. These people have had it in for Olbermann since at least 1998 during Monica-gate. They routinely feature him on their web site with the likes of other ghastly "liberals" like Peter Jennings, Tom Brokaw, Brian Williams, and Dan Rather - in other words - respected journalists.

The only people who read the words of these radical freaks are the freepers. And they already have their agenda - it was probably programmed into their brains when they signed their blood loyalty oath.
